Almost no one buys a different graphics card to play royals. There's a workaround called VMware that allows you to run windows XP inside your PC, and that somehow solves this issue. Its slightly inconvinient, but its better than crashing every other HT fight >.>
from KMS/GMS experience i think best for all and to minimize abuse it's to remove EXP from boss parts and add it at end as total then kill count turn ++ only if you die (and can't get res) or when get final exp/drop extra thing would be nice all the buff potions that are used during the run to get counted and return back if don't reach the end exp/drop (can get half or nothing if die/res and crash/dc)
Your suggestion is VERY abusable. Let me give you an example: A group of very high lvled players do daily HT runs together, so they trust each other when it comes to drops and pay. In the group there are 3 lvl 200 players, and 3 which are not. All players play until the last hand, where all the lvl 200 force quit the game. Lvl 200 players don't care for exp, so they'll just get their pots back for free, and get the full drop payment because this was an agreed upon tactic. Not only does the remaining get an exp as if they almost trioed HT, the lvl 200 players can use the same pots indefinitely. You can even use the att pot from cwkpq which gives 140 endlessly, making this change a 40 att buff on all lvl 200 players.
but i said if boss run fail (boss count ++ only if they get exp/drop or can't get ress) in your example if the 200 maplers "crash" and if the rest of the team kill HT everyone that signed in that expedition will get kill count ++ (made run succesufll which is the point to kill HT) it will make better runs and less stress for SED/SE/Bishop runs fail if they crash/dc (also am not much familiar with exp pool/share system in royals but other will lose bunch exp if they leav as most dmg done ) about return pots buff as i suggested sure it can get more improved by other , but if boss gets down the refund can't be done
Ah sorry i misinterpreted your OP, so if this system will be capable of waiting until the run is over, then decide if the dc players get to have a refund, then sure. But that sounds a bit complicated to implement, as in, i don't know if the game can keep track on how many potions you used since the run started, and in what way it will be reclaim-able. But in terms on concept alone, it takes off a lot of stress cause a dc doesn't cost anyone money, just time
it's ok '-' the boss death count idea it's eazy to start with for now but yea the 2nd refund idea it's kinda complicated to get implemented at boss (or maybe not) the boss death count idea also comes a bit from cake event we just had where you can come back to fight cake (if ch limit isnt maxed) or just go other ch instead of waiting for next spawn/day reset and the "refund" idea it's a bit from new year/christmas decorating tree map where you can drop decorate tree with all items you want (tradeable) then relog/crash/leav map and get all back in your inventory so that's why i belive 2nd idea also could/maybe get eazy implemented with some changes or i agree with @sparky95 OP but i just see it much more complicated (or maybe am wrong and there is other reasons why his suggestion isnt yet made , but as DEV team can/want) but for sure lately all the DC/Crash and all that GFX things gets more and more annoying... and we need some changes
How about if Royals followed a similar approach like League of Legends, when you disconnect or leave a game the users champion becomes idle and walks back to their base? (disconnected players are still killable so theres no real purpose of intentionally disconnecting/leaving) Translating this to bossing expeditions, if a player disconnects their character becomes idle but killable, being unable to use auto pet potions (but the bishop can/should heal). There should be a 10 minute reconnection window to when the disconnected user dies (this is the time a player re-spawns back to town for being dead too long in a map). Basically the player can log back in to rejoin the boss fight if their character is still alive or dead until they are automatically warped back to town. I believe this approach compared to @sparky95 and @ilyssia suggestion is less abusive because purposely leaving does not benefit people at all. I'm sure many people would rather have their character potentially dead instead of being unable to re-enter the boss run due to graphics or connection issues.
It sounds technically impossible to keep a character alive and online when the client is closed , given the current client restrictions.
Just disconnected from Krexel. While I'm thankful for the staffs for making gfx redundant now, I would still like to see this get implemented and maybe consider expanding it to cwkpq too. If you fear if this system get abused, then make it costly or troublesome to be teleported back into the boss map. Like it cost 10m or 5k nx to be warp back in.
hey guys, this should be a thing for real! maybe you could also think about giving each char up to 1 rewarp ticket per week so that players can have max 1 rewarp per week themselves. That way players could save a rewarp for an important run. Also there could be no harvesting plus abusing would not pay off once a week.
+1 2 times I lost horntail because of disconnect issues! Cmon, its something simple, yet useful and harmful
Hmmm... How they did that server implement such a system, was there any requirements to activate the feature and how they did combat abuse? @sparky95 maybe set up a poll to gauge the interest of the community?
+1 on this suggestion. I've crashed twice this week. Only on the important client. The others were still running.

Yoooo, thanks for replying. Really appreciate you and your development team's work to solving the GFX issue and looking out for the players. I was aware of it but I sneeze while holding the mouse, so the cursor touches the boss's hp bar. But I still think this idea is worth considering since I think players will be extremely thankful if they have an option to return to boss fights or cwkpq because they dc due to non-client reasons, like lag spikes or when there is a future update that will cause this similar issue to pop out again.
I just crashed 2minutes into my solo zak. I had my SI and SE mules parked inside, in a party with my sair. Exactly 2minutes 19 sec passed after I spawned Zakum but my Corsair client (HD) froze as it used to in HT then crashed without any error message after a few seconds. I already downloaded the new sound.wz and replaced the old one prior to this accident :/
