Hello everyone! Recently I've dug into the lores of Ludibrium and Neo Tokyo and came up with some ideas for 'new' high-level, fun and nostalgic content! Backstory: Traveling through time to save Zipangu caused massive distorations to the flow of time around the Maple World, distortions that even Asia did not anticipate. These distortions caused a rift to be made in the already fragile Dimensional Wall in Ludibrium, making it crack severely and shatter. Now that the shattered Dimensional Wall no longer stands in their way, Alishar & Papulatus have once again invaded but this time they are backed with the full force of the other dimension! Once again parties of powerful adventurers are needed in order to defeat the stronger-than-ever Alishar & Papulatus! 'New' Ludibrium PQ: Dimensional Rift PQ (6 people required, Level 150+) This PQ is basically the same as the original PQ but with buffed monsters and, of course, buffed Alishar. My suggestion is to make the monsters in this pq have more or less the same stats as the monsters in Neo Tokyo and buff their exp to match level 150+ exp chart. Spoiler: New monster stats and names suggestion: The new names are the original names plus "Dimensional Rift" at the beginning. The monster's stats can be copied from the various New Tokyo monsters, for example: Dimensional Rift Ratz == Overload Dimensional Rift Black Ratz == Afterload Dimensional Rift Blocktopus == Protoroad Dimensional Rift Shadow Monsters - Eruwater (with buffed weapon/magic def like the originals) Dimensional Rift Block Golem == Mavericks A Dimensional Rift King Block Golem == Maverick D (the non-flying one) Dimensional Rift Rombot == Imperial Guard Alishar (new name Suggestion: Dimensional Rift Alishar), the final boss, will get a massive buff, and a new set of skills (W/M cancel, dispel, damage reflection and etc). Since there's a time factor in this PQ I would suggest buffing Alishar in a way that it would take a reasonable amount of time to defeat. Prequests: Three options: 1) Freely Accessible after reaching level 150. 2) Accessible only after completing several quests in the Neo Tokyo questline. 3) Accessible after completing new quests given by Asia. PQ Lobby: I have two Suggestions: 1) Use the original Lobby and add a new NPC. 2) Make a new Lobby map similar to the original which is accessible from Asia or Eos Tower. Reward - Upon completing the PQ [X] times (Suggestion): Just like in the original PQ, after completing the PQ for a certain amount of time you get a reward. - I'm not sure about the X times that would be reasonable. - There can be a daily amount of times one can complete this PQ. - This reward might be broken so it's just a suggestion and should be altered as seen fit. Bonus Stage: Not sure about this one since I'm not sure which rewards can be added without making this stage broken. Pros & Cons: pros: - N O S T A L G I C ! ! - New content for the higher levels. - It's a party quest which would encourage interactions between players like the old times. - The content and mechanics already exist, only the monsters stats are needed to be changed. cons: - More work for Kevin 'New' Boss: Dimensional Rift Papulatus (Level 150+) As the Name suggests, it is a new and a harder version of the well-known Papulatus! My suggestion is to make this version challenging enough to encourage forming big parties to take it down (And what can be more nostalgic than to look for a strong party to take down Papulatus ^^) (*) To fight this version of Papulatus a new and different Crack of Dimension is needed. Prequest (Suggestion): Quest Name: Shattered Dimensional Wall This quest is given by Asia. In this quest the player is asked to gather the pieces of the dimensional wall which broke off and scattered through time around Neo Tokyo. The mission is to collect [X] pieces which are dropped by monsters found in Neo Tokyo. After gathering the amount of pieces needed the player should head to Mr. Bouffon located in Path of Time to create a new Crack of Dimension to seal off the shattered wall and defeat Papulatus once and for all. Reward: One suggestion that came to my mind was a buffed version of the Ludibrium Cape with weapon and magic attack stats. Not sure about this one though. Pros & Cons: pros: - Forming raid parties for Papulatus is very Nostalgic. - New content for the higher levels. - Encourage team work. - Possible new quest or even questline. cons: - Again, more work for Kevin - Kinda have the same vibe as the 'Chaos Bosses' introduced in post-BB GMS... ------------------ So these are my suggestions for 'new' & nostalgic content for high-level players which combine both the stories of Ludibrium and Neo Tokyo. Waiting to hear your thoughts about these ideas and further suggestions ^^
Really cool, creative stuff! I am not a fan of the GMS system of slapping "Chaos" in front of an existing boss, doubling its stats, and calling it "new content" though. I think if Neo Tokyo was further tuned to be more worth it/accessible, it would scratch the same itch as the ideas you've suggested here, but I'd like seeing what original content you could come up with for seldom or completely unused content like Ellin Forest, etc.
Ellin Forest has HUGE potential to be a new endgame training & bossing place (with the right tweaks of course). I wonder if it's planned to be introduced to this server anytime in the future. Just like you I'm also not a big fan of the Chaos bosses concept, so I tried (hopefully) to make my suggestions revolve more around the nostalgic aspects and less on bossing for the sake of bossing
Yes to high lvl pqs, no to chaos bosses lol As for the end reward for the pq, the stats on the glasses might be a bit too much. Maybe +4 all stats 1 slot, or simply 1 att 5 matt no slots? Idk
