Hello, For the last 2 months, I have been working very hard towards earning my [Legendary Collector] medal for my CPQ mule. I was able to achieve the medal and I am very proud of my accomplishment, but something doesn't quite with me. I have an unfair advantage against other CPQers by having this medal. Part of Maplestory is getting to explore much of the content and seeing many places. A few months ago, there was a recent issue with a user who was ruining one of the activities you could do in the game. Some players have found creative and fun ways to make mesos in the game such as merchandising, selling leech, heartstopper farming, or bossing, but that user was using hacks to vac mobs into the people that were selling leech. These players were getting very frustrated and the GMs knew about this incident shortly after. Their solution to getting rid of the vac-hack users was to ban those users and to increase the level requirement to access those maps to level 80 for good measurement. Before it was impossible for a level 50 to access that area, my character that I was already card-collecting was grandfathered into the cards for those areas. I did some counting and found that removing access to those areas for level 50's made it so that the maximum cards a level 50 could collect would be reduced from 410 to 390... just 10 short of [Legendary Collector]. Below are charts on what cards a level 50 can get prior and after the level restriction change. Cards that a level 50 could get prior to the level 80 requirement (410) <some are greyed-out only because these are the cards my level 50 currently has> Cards that a level 50 cannot get before the level 80 requirement (61) Cards that are CURRENTLY no longer obtainable with a level 50 character after the level 80 requirement (20) My recommendation is to reduce the level requirement from 80 to 50. If that is not possible, maybe open up some other areas for a level 50. I do not care what decision is made on how to make it possible for other level 50's to obtain the medal. I just wanted to bring this to the attention of the GMs so that the game can be fair for other CPQers. I enjoy competing for points with other CPQers and think they should have the same advantage as me. I know of another CPQer who was also working towards that medal, but can no longer obtain the medal because of the restriction so I am not the only person who has thought of doing this. One last thing to add to this thread. During my card hunt, I noticed that is it EXTREMELY difficult to get 3 specific cards. Those 3 cards are D.Roy, Rombot, and Homunscullo. There is 2 problems with these 3 cards. They spawn once every 1 or 2 hours, and they have a drop rate of a regular monster card. The combination of those 2 problems make them the 3 most difficult cards to obtain. My recommendation would be to make the spawn more often so that you could keep CC-killing them. My other option would just be to increase the droprate. I think increasing the spawn rate would be the better option. BONUS <Picture of Super Snowboard found with Owl of Minerva> Last thing I want to add is I am the only hard-core Polearm CPQer in this server (or so I am convinced). 90% of all the CPQers are fighters and a few of the others are Brawlers/Bandits/Pages/SPEARmen. I don't think I have ever seen a polearm CPQer besides my friend who took my hand-me-downs. My request is to have the Super Snowboard quest added to the game so that it can be used in CPQ. It has 20 speed but I would be happy to see this item be added to the server withOUT the speed on it because the most reasonable weapons for polearm CPQers to use are only NORMAL speed while fighters get to use a sword that is 2 whole speeds faster than what the polarm CPQ mules can use. On top of that, they can equip a shield for even more attack stats. Also the level 50 polearm (Nine Dragons) is extremely difficult to find a perfect one even though it is only a level 50 weapon. I also feel like the weapons you get from Maple Coins should allow you to get godly-system weapons from the CPQ NPC.
While this suggestion is a bit niche, I wouldn't say it's selfish by any measure. In my opinion, it's quite selfless given the fact OP actually already has the medal, and is trying to open up opportunities for more like themselves to obtain it (for their niche use case.) That being said, as ImVeryJelly pointed out the level suggestion can be tossed in the "autoban wen?" bin. As for the snowboard suggestion, I see no problem with it (perhaps nerf the speed on that a bit?) It breaths a tiny bit of life into a small part of the game (CPQ leeching), giving others yet another choice of gameplay. It seems to be the pole-arm equivalent of a Diao Chan Sword or Japanese Map. Godly system weapons from the CPQ NPC also sounds quite reasonable (was it like this in the past? Or only necklaces?)
It still will only help a handful of people while affecting the leeching community heavily with the possible return of greefing hackers. The trade-off is not justified at all
Would actually suggest to open up the lvl requirement at map dragon canyon, there will be exactly 10cards more to collect while low lvl hacker unable to access popular leeching map, skele.
I actually agree with you, and hoped that was clear from my "autoban wen" comment. I was merely pointing out that the suggestion, in my opinion, is well intentioned.
So i guess i picked the wrong word to describe it. Its less "selfish", more irresponsible? Sorry, english is not my first language so i still sometimes make mistakes when it comes to the specific meaning of certain words.
And this is a much more elegant solution to this issue, that both keeps the map lock in place while still solving the issue of the OP. +1 from me
Coming from a fellow Cpqer who is actually also collecting the cards. It's just kinda sad coming from me, as Being Amazing Collector is the best i can do now because i wasn't able to grab those cards. So either adding more cards or opening it to level 50's doesn't seem selfish and i can see how'd some think its irresponsible as making a level 50 is still easy but still a challenge for Grief hackers. So i just wanna add that it feels restricted for those who are doing challenges or stuff like that, and it would just be so nice to also be able to feel the same accomplishment of finishing the book
A big yes for super snowboard. Honestly this item should be placed under a “super rare drop” in the next Christmas event or GM event. Is it broken, yes, but for its rarity, its quite okay. Please add this nostalgic item!
