Hey, I'd like to recommend implementing a check-in system that would consist of the following:

    • 28-day calendar of rewards
    • Must stay logged in for 30 minutes to receive daily check-in reward
    • Progress on calendar starts on day 1 regardless of which day of the month the player first logs in
    • The only way to reach day 28 is to log in for 28 consecutive days
    • All rewards would be untradeable to prevent monetization
    • Higher tier rewards would be awarded on days 7, 14, 21, and 28

I first saw this feature on another server that has since closed and I always admired its check-in and menu system/UI, which looked like this:

    slimetales menu.png

Examples of lower tier rewards could include: untradeable power elixers, buff potions, gachapon tickets
Examples of higher tier rewards (days 7, 14, 21, 28) could include: untradeable chair gachapon tickets, AP resets, unique event items

Not necessarily an essential feature to have, but would be cool to see. Let me know your thoughts.

Ahh personally my first gut reaction is no - I don’t want this to become like those mobile games that are trying to keep their players artificially addicted to suck up their money. I’m already addicted enough tyvm.

I just think it'd be cool to incentivize logging in and playing the game when so many people are voting and accruing wealth without even playing actively, but maybe that's just me.

I like that royals is not always seeking to eat up my time.
The only system that feels like that is the voting system, and that one only takes a minute to complete.
I hate the idea of adding these systemd that punish players for not playing every day.
Also, this will be heavily abusable in a server that allows muling. Every daily reward would multiply itself by however many characters someone has, further incentivizes the use of mules on the server.
    That's a hard no from me :-/

I’m sorry. It’s a no for me. It will feel the same as the current “official” MapleStory. Not everyone can play everyday :/

Please keep royals casual as it is now...

Furthermore, I can already see people abusing the rewards with all their mules :p. Just imagine all the gachapon tickets that will be released for free on all those mules....

This is exactly what will happen.

This kind of feature is a meme at best. The closest we should ever get to having something like this is voting for NX or the "check-in" advent calendar we had for the winter events. It's a hard no from me.

I like the sentiment behind your idea but I don't think a daily log in reward system would be healthy for the economy of the server (you said untradeables but things like Gachapon Ticks can be used to get other tradeable items).

Maybe as an event once a year it could be neat but I'm worried about the mule abuse the people mentioned earlier.

I feel as though we need more of an incentive for newer players to keep them in. Right now in Royals it's hard to recommend to friends because you have to make a bishop first to fund the character you actually want to play. Then you have to save up NX for a pet/pet equips and all the jazz. As a sign up system it be nice if we were allocated an expirable pet/pet equips that lasts like two-ish week so they can enjoy the voting benefit. I feel the log in system should reward GM buffs, maybe some of the cheaper chairs, 60% scrolls that can be used, they don't necessarily have to be the rarer items. Maybe zombie gold teeth?

I mean, it's not really a bad idea and I can see your intentions, but yeah, like others have pointed, this suggestion (currently) leans to bad sides, unless there is some idea on how to make this balanced and all that stuff

Plus, I dont really need another Maple to give me untradable PE pots that I cant even stack :'(

Please MSEA why the hell do you make 3 types of Powef Elixir where I cant even stack them

I agree that it could be a nice idea if tweaked so it isn't easily abused by mules. Instead of just generally being online, as many people afk on game and this could result in afking on all your accs, it could be similar to advent calendar where you need to actually spend some time to get an untradeable etc. For example, if we do it like the lvl 150 HP quest where no other characters can help out, then we know that these people are actually playing the game and not muling/afking. Staff can also tweak the drop rate of this etc as they see fit, perhaps making it only likely to drop after 30 minutes of actively hunting.
If this doesn't work, we could also consider counting PQs or bosses towards being 'active' on game. Although some mules are brought into bosses, perhaps if a character does not receive exp from a boss kill or it doesn't hit the boss a certain number of times (like we do during cake boss or slime), it won't count towards being 'active'. The second criteria could pose a problem for non-mule bishops since bishops don't usually fight though. Another situation it could be problematic is where someone brings two attackers and attack on both clients but perhaps if they have the technical skills to do so, it should count as being active on both characters instead of an attacker + a 'mule'. The only PQs where people actively afk is when buying CPQ leech, when pq leeching a lower lvl char in LPQ or OPQ, or during CWKPQ. For CPQ leech, again, if the character doesn't hit a certain number of times, we can count it as being inactive. In terms of lpq and opq, having too many mules in a party makes it a very inefficient run because there are parts where collaboration is very necessary so it is not very abusable. In terms of CWK, perhaps only the characters who make it to the boss stage should count as being active? Or again, they have to hit the boss a certain number of times?
Lastly, if the rewards aren't very big (an apple a day? an apr a day? decent equips for new players like a 8-10 att glove?), it could be a huge bonus for newer players yet not something veteran players will likely abuse, as 10-15m for 30 minutes is not as good as apqing, bossing or selling leech.

There's no need to add any sort of "Login reward" when you already get given so much.

Ellin Bosses, Papulatus, Daily Vote, Daily HP Quest, some days I walk out with 30k NX just from doing these tasks that take less than an hour to complete. :\
