I wasn't sure if to report this as a bug or feedback, but since I haven't done enough research (killing endless monsters) I wouldn't want to report is as a bug. Me and a friend are hunting for Ancient scroll and Flaming feather for the Old Gladius quest and want to know if the drops indeed drop from the monsters provided by the BBB-database. We're currently at Dark Stone Golems for the Ancient Scroll, but no luck so far (~1 hour in?) and we're two people killing stuff. We only do quests and try to avoid the ones reported from the Sticky threads about bugged quests, and since this is not reported there, we would like to know if to continue hunting for said items or give up the search if they don't drop. Also this further encourages (from my part) a ~whodrops command for us avid questers, and for people trying to farm equipment/scrolls, to make sure if an item does indeed drop, or is missing in the database. Thank you!
Hi, I am not sure, because it is like month ago when I get them. But if I remember right, I get some Ancient Scrolls and Flaming Feathers from monsters at Ghost Ship maps. I think, it was GS 1 and GS 5. But, I am not 100% sure and dont want to confuse you.
Flaming Feather drops from Selkie Jr and you can get the Ancient Scroll from the Orbis exchange quest - just gather plenty of Hector tails! I haven't yet personally checked to see if Pac Pinky drops Ancient Scroll, but you could also try that. IIRC, the drop rate of Ancient Scroll from Dark Stone Golems in both GMS and EMS was hideously low, and it may be the case that it's just as bad or worse here. Sorry I'm not able to investigate this in more detail for you, but I've got real-life commitments today and am not able to be around much, so hopefully another member of staff will be able to fill you in on any issues with the drop rate or with missing drops! Edit: Ninja'd, lol!
Is this command for GM's only? Would be incredibly useful to players, and also at what rate it drops (ex. 1 in 700 or 1 in 3000). Thanks for the help though
Other servers have it and it's quite useful =P. As long as it doesn't show droprates, what problems do you forsee?
i personally would love that command for players. It would really help out alot, because bbb.hidden-street is not exactly v0.62 database. If not many maplers would be like me hunting items from monsters that do not drop although bbb says it does drop them. thank you.
If we host a custom event and we have custom drops from certain mobs, we want players to find themselves. We don't want players to find the drops via a command.
^ Agreed. But I was wondering if there was an alternative way to bridge the interests of both parties, like blocking out certain item IDs from being searched, for instance. Or will the code for doing so be too troublesome/complex?
Hi, I know this is an old thread, however I am facing similar issue that the drop lists seem to be slightly different from BBB. I am killing Jr. Cellion trying to get a flaming feather, until I discover that the monster book droplist doesn't include flaming feather, well, if the flaming feather is a quest item, it won't show in the monster book right? with the extremely low drop rate, how can I be sure if the Jr. Cellion drops it or not?
flaming feather is a normal item, it can drop even if the quest is off. So it does show up in the monster book when it should. it drops from selkie jr, and shows it in the monster book if i remember correctly, can double check for you in the evening. if it doesn't show up in the book, this mob doesn't drop it
You are correct. You can use the library on the main website for both the flaming feather and ancient scroll, and the information is accurate from my experience hunting these items (selkie for feather, pac pinky for ancient scroll).
Thanks for reply, so the only ambiguous thing is that we can't be sure if it is a quest item before getting it, which forces player to look up the internet, and possibly being misled by dated/inaccurate information. In this flaming feather case, I just found that it asked me to talk to Mike, the guardian of the dungeon. Will go and check if he gives enough information. Thanks, will first look up here in the future!
