The purpose of this thread is to hopefully find a map with problematic issues (be it foothold issue, rope and any map related issue), address them and hopefully provide some kind of fix for Staff to implement them. Spoiler: Crimsonwood Mountain - Crimsonwood Keep The Issue : The biggest sin on this map is this arch with footholds implemented on top of them. There is simply no reason for you to actually be able to walk on it, and when you are getting hit by monsters on this specific platform, you'll always fall down because the footholds are not connected properly. The Fix : Remove the footholds on the arch for good. This will ensure a smooth movement flow on the map without the player accidentally falls down to the lower platform. The Issue : The stairs, both sides. The footholds are simply horrendous, you will most definitely will fall down if you are not being careful. Too many disconnected and awkwardly placed footholds for the sake of making it feels like an actual stairs, making jumping down the platform a hassle. The Fix : Connect these two footholds, this will make movement on top platform feel smooth without you having to jump just to get on the middle platform. As for the stairs, there is several solutions I would love to suggest- First suggestion is keep them as a row of steps you have to climb on, but without the awkward footholds on the sidesteps. Second suggestion would be adding a sidestep that you actually can step on, so you wouldn't fall off from the stairs. Third suggestion would be just remove the steps and make it a smooth slopes instead. Extra : This one is really minor, but I feel like it would be a good idea to connect the foothold still. If there is more maps with issues, feel free to contribute this list and maybe propose a solution on how to fix the issue if possible! Edit: Fix ropes in Leafre and Lushan, among other maps.
Sorry, no contribution from me (yet at least.) But if there's any map that would serve as a motivation for a thread like this, it's definitely that map
It's the only map that I can technically cheese for the 500 monsters daily attendance anyway And grinding there for a bit of an extended time can be annoying because of how dumb the platforms can be
NLC Subway entrance I believe many people have encountered this problem. The reason is that there is a mini foothold.
I've been salty about that map design for probably my entire time in royals, it looks like they gave the intern that was not very enthusiastic about MS to build an entire map, which he built in less than an hour LOL. another map in NLC that deserved to be scrapped is mesogears: ice chamber
Im not contributing anything to this post, but let me just admire how perfect your in-game character cosplays your profile pic, whoever anime girl that is xD
Much needed bump/revival I didn't know this thread existed until I started to work on resizing the interior building maps as one of my many small side projects. These are just a few sneak peaks of what I've been working on off and on for a bit! So far I've finished Orbis, El Nath, and Aquarium. I'm currently working on Ludibrium and Omega sector afterwards, but please let me know if there are anymore interior buildings I should touch up before moving onto some of these suggestions in here! Ultimately, my goal is to resize/fix backgrounds of everywhere, but there are around 3400 maps and it will take a long while. I'm not sure how long truthfully, but I plan to chip away at it whenever I can. Spoiler: Sneak peak of Orbis Spoiler: Sneak peak of El Nath Ellinia always had that troll platform, even in GMS.
Ok so I want to mention the most annoying map in my opinion. Literally, I think this map was designed in order to make players frustrated and angy. so I'm talking about Path of Peril. here some of my points: First, there are 2 points where you can just fall into the blank. here is an example: It's so annoying, and there is another points like that (a little bit to the left if I'm not wrong). If it's possible to just make the lowest platform a little bit longer it would be awesome! Second, the whole knock-out of the Typhons makes me sick. I really understand that's the whole points, but, I would like to suggest an option to add 2 ropes in each side, so the player could have a chance to "catch" a rope and not to fall into the blank. here is an example of "catching" the rope, while after thats i'm knocked out with nothing to do. Third and last point, that invisible platform. Basically I feel like it's kind of the point of this map, but I find it annoying when a feather/something worthy drops on that platform. So, I won't suggest to remove the idea (if possible) but, to disable the option for monsters to be summoned on it. For example, this Coin Monster, that could have been a gold one with a Mystery chest that contains 500M item! such a waste if I could'nt pick that up Hopefully no more waste of feathers and rage fallings <3 Thanks!
I believe this is a new bug cause of updates, you shouldn't have any action during knockback, unless it was intentional.
well thats not true, a lot of jump quests have this behavior of climbing on a rope a millisecond after getting hit. it always worked like that
auf doesn't have any ropes in the map, i don't see your point lol yes, you can't move left or right while in KB, or use skills, but climbing is the one thing you can do, that's how it always worked like afaik
I wasn't talking about rope, I just said u can't move during a hard KB like typhon and auf, anyway gimme a week and I show exactly what I'm saying.
