Used to Stream a lot of fun shit on Royals. My YT and Twitch got Nexon'd and I can't ever stream again. The Royals Discord got nexon'd. We haven't made a Royals Guilded or any other substitute. Why can't we stream on forums? I would gladly stream my countless DC's at HT and other random shenanigans again on the Forums. It brought in so many new players and kinda brought the community together. I answered live questions to newbies, interacted with the players, and made new friends. Those were good times, can we bring that back to MapleRoyals?
frankly, you are asking for too much from a small private server. turning their forum into a streaming platform is a huge undertaking, for a very small audience.
Is it not possible? I dont think it would be a huge undertaking. The streams where also on the main Site forwarded from twitch. Forwarding from other platforms would be possible or having a guilded would work too. Could be as simple as an embed link, and streaming directly on websites isnt rocket science. @DickDann made a nice website once. To argue the small audience thing, I had 56 average concurrent viewers and a high of 178. Made twitch affiliate in 1 week. Even made decent change from donations/twitch ads, about 30$ a week. Yes it was Covid and everyone was playing Royals, but it was not a small audience. It was a decent sized niche audience of dedicated players that enjoyed watching streams of a game they loved. Meanwhile Valorant streamers are putting in 8 hour streams a day for 2 viewers. I dont think its a lot to ask at all and totally within the scope of possibility. But my main concern its legality and if nexon can somehow shut it down.
For sure that MapleRoyals was quite popular on Twitch Maplestory category before Nexon started striking streamers. I guess the benefit for streaming on Twitch is to advertise the server to those GMS or other private servers players to join MapleRoyals. Streaming on MapleRoyals website would mainly focus inside MapleRoyals community. It’s difficult to connect with the mainstream community outside MapleRoyals community. Twitch or YouTube audiences mainly from GMS or other private servers. But it still would be fun to watch all different type of players in the community. Spoiler It’s going to require works and money (I don’t know how difficult or how much)
why don't you broadcast in trovo? YouTube and tiwcht is already marked by mapleroyals as pirate software I have tried to transmit mapleroyals in trovo but I don't know how to configure the obs
I assumed you meant literally hosting the streaming on their servers. If you have semi-popular sites in mind that can be used as an alternative to twitch [because, yknow] then feel free to share.
I love streams and I really miss watching MSRoyals lives .. Maybe if staff encourage players to stream (maybe gifting NX) for regular streamers, in the "Maple Royals" channel on Twitch, It would be a good idea aswell. But I'd love to see Maple Royals lives again, whether on twitch or on the forum itself
I'm gonna try out Trovo for now. Would be awesome if it works out and royals main site can play the streams again
Would be cool to have but I don't think it's worth dividing the already limited dev time. I think just trying to tank the bans on throwaway accounts for twitch/youtube is the best option, eventually they will give up on the strikes
The Staff are not against the streaming, or giveaway of NX Staff are just unable to encourage players to stream on Twitch for now due to the constant DMCA sent by the Daziunda, and also how various server(s) Discord were taken down as well Example of a player being warned on Twitch https://royals.ms/forum/threads/banned-off-twitch.187044/
Adding twitch streams to the website now will increase loading times significantly, which is not worth it. A new website is required for better backend features to integrate twitch streams and fix this issue. Since this is already on the list of features planned for the new website, I will move this to closed.
