There's no best class per say, and this comes from someone who tried a ton of classes already. Because the experience is very individualistic, it kinda boils down to what makes you feel like you are "making progress". Does beating bosses solo give you a sense of progress? does beating many quests, collecting cards, and getting medals make you feel like you are making progress? Or maybe just min-maxing and gearing up your character and seeing the range number go up make you happy? Every class has its upsides and downsides in these catagories but to make it a little easier to pick, I've made an [admittedly incomplete] guide about ironman: you can give it a peek: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/ironman-general-tips-and-tricks-w-i-p.169563/ I especially recommend reading the "How to approach choosing a class" part.
Hey there, thinking about making an Ironman and just jumping right in. How active is the Ironman/Ironwoman community?
Not as active as previous years, but there's still people who will answer your questions in the guild and on discord. It just depends on what time zone you're in. If nothing else, I'm looking on the forum pretty much daily and can answer any questions you may have.
@Shane Awesome, I appreciate the assistance! I just returned from a year long break and was looking for another challenge to pursue while playing on my Fire/Poison mage and waiting for my Bishop's information to be reset. I was considering either an Assassin or a Hunter.
So I decided to go with a Page instead of an Archer considering HP Washing would be a pain as a BM! IGN: Soladin Class: Page Level: 36 Guild: Faded (Couldn't find a Jr Master online in the Ironman guild) (Also this guild is part of my main's alliance, so I'm all for it until I can possibly get a guild invite into the Ironman guild.)
If you'll join our discord, you'll have a better chance to catching us online, i'll PM you an invite As for the HP washing part, as a tip from someone who both excessively HP washed all of my ironman characters, and did a lot of HP quests, I can say with confidence that these days, HP washing is not as good as doing the HP quest Just look at a post i made a few weeks ago: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/gam...olo-diy-no-trading.42779/page-67#post-1223232 In a matter of a week (with a 1.2x droprate buff from event), I farmed 1k HP from the infinite HP quest on an MM, before hitting the infinite quest cap and being forced to go back to daily quests instead. TLR, hp threshold should no longer be a way for you to decide which class you'd like more to play in ironman
@LichWiz Well shucks, I fully appreciate the time you spent writing that long detailed message out for me. In hindsight, I definitely should've just kept playing on my archer before deciding to go the Page route, but I'm really content with the progress I've made on my Page so far. It's a class I've never truly given any thought about playing and I'm having so much fun playing it now as a solo player! As for the discord and guild invite, I'll definitely check out the link so I can hopefully receive an invite.
all that matters is that you'll find a class that is fun and interesting to you, be it page, archer, or beginner
Yesterday I went to duo Zak with @Dodge (it felt like 2016 again!), but unfortunately ACA10 did not drop. Equally unfortunately, I did not grab a screenshot of the epic moment. Next time! Are there any Ironmen still alive?
Today I reached another milestone, level 160! I'm washing out my unnecessary base DEX and INT for some extra damage. Currently sitting at ~7500 range with Maple Warrior now. After that I will try to finish my shield; I'm aiming for 18 weapon attack. Update on that coming in 2024. Level 170 update coming in 2025. Yes.
I'll alert the other juniors since I'm away this weekend. Our discord link will be available once you join the guild.
