Area bosses are in high demand due to the new Adventurer's Assignment quest. There was no need to incentivize the selfish act of killing the area bosses in every single channel, when simply finding one boss was difficult enough already before the event. Either remove the coin mob spawns, or increase the randomization of boss respawn timers by a LOT please
I understand the frustration, I never bother to hunt 95% of area bosses because theyre so hard to find and atm theres a huge influx of players (woohoo) But remember this adventurer quest doesn’t expire. I’d say let it chill for a little and I’m sure they’ll open up soon. I see people smega kills away too
In the long term, increasing the randomization of spawn timers would still be healthy imo. We should almost never be encountering situations where a single area boss is killed by the same person 20 times
They're already randomized by -/+ 20%. I'm sure nobody is killing all 20 right now. There are so many more players running around right now area boss hunting. And the people who are killing lets say 10+ a clear. They're also just checking more often than you. Are you checking ToT bosses every hour? There are some people that live there and adding more variance wouldn't really solve the issue for the short timer bosses. Pianus is a huge ??? though. That boss is weird and the timers are long but there is an unnatural amount of people dedicated to hunting that fish
I was a couple of days late into starting the new questline because of having to fix a few things, yet I still seemed to be able to find most area bosses for the quest without much issue. The only ones that I could not find were: Chimera, Blue Mushmom and Leviathan, however none of these were required to continue with the questline, and I could easily complete some of the other optional tasks like getting Legendary Spirit, obtaining Silver Mane and doing Ellin PQ. I would actually argue that with the combination of the questline + players trying to farm the area bosses for coins makes it not very beneficial for area boss farmers, as they may find more coin mobs from regular mobs, and also causes the boss spawns to be even more random therefore making it even more likely you'll come across a boss (or at least not need to wait too long).
Isn't pianus also one of the more profitable bosses to hunt though? Since minis are needed for will quest and the nx drops are decent, along with potential double spawns.
It is and it isn't imo. Only 1 side drops SE20 (i think left), and the spawn time is like 11 hours I think? I feel like you're much more likely to make more mesos hunting HH, Levi, ToT, Anego The 20% variance also makes it spawn around ~2hrs making it hard to hold
Maybe make killing mini bosses in dojo count for the quest would be nice.. so new players can rack up points for belt.. making them more aware of dojo! #Gotothegym!
Small tip, if you are having a tough time finding area bosses for the quest, use galore sacks, it spawns most of the low level bosses needed for the questline
Say what you will about your own experience with hunting area bosses or whatever countermeasures you can take. I still think it's a terrible game mechanic; the last thing a community-based nostalgic private server needs is another reason for players to hate each other
Part of what balances this kind of content is that its bottlenecked by players, there is a rush right now to finish it and give a few weeks most players will have no issue finding the bosses. I think competing for limited resources (especially profitable ones) is what makes MMO's great, otherwise the drops wouldn't mean anything You have 4 bosses you can solo daily to gain many coins/boxes with zero competition; Pap, chao, fairy, and rose garden boss I don't think this needs any changes
