With Halloween right around the corner, i would like to suggest a small change to the pierre event. Pierre's hat is a completely RNG item coming from trading in the pierre box after fighting the group boss. this can be done at best every 4 hours, but due to people having to live a life and sleep, the amount of boxes one might open in a day usually range between 0 and 3. i can say from experience that i have been trying for that hat on one of my characters for an entire Halloween without getting one, which is a very frustrating feeling, and im sure im not the only one who felt this way. Adding a pity system, of lets say, 20 or 30 runs, you could pick one of the two hats once that event, will remove all the frustration as you know for certain you could at least get 1 hat in the event.
As far as I know, there's never been a pity system for any content on this server, probably not going to happen. That said, pity systems would be nice. I would love one for Christmas dinner turn in as well.
There's one for the first orb in Christmas dinner turn in, after your 15th exchange each year. That's the only one I know of.
We also had it for valentine rings where it was possible to get one early on, but guaranteed after x attempts
Hey @Tim , seems like Halloween has arrived. Did my suggestion get considered internally for this year by any chance?
we chose not to introduce anything new / any changes this year as we ran late due to technical difficulties already. I do still like the idea!
I'm sorry man I was joking because I didnt have hat but i have serious question Why reward players for standing in the corner and holding 1 button with somethign that is as strong as zakum helmet out of pity? maybe misunderstood so osrry if looks agresive im just curiops
Cake can reward you far more generously for fights that take half the time. And in terms of time vs reward, Halloween is a waste of time, you can do anything else and likely progress your account more in that time. making the experience suck a little less would be nice. (P.S i still didn't get the damn hat, the prophecy was true )
I've been trying to get all the untradable chairs on one of my characters and after doing close to a hundred runs of Pierre there's still one chair that eludes me .. I guess I'll just have to try my luck again next year
a. a event to celebrate this server not shutting down should be better than any random american holiday b. I stil dont get why u should receive zakum helmet for such an easy task like standing in corner and holding 1 button while defaming people who dont. buying zak vip or scar vip is exteremly cheap on this server but require preq preq is enough trouble to "earn" these good hats in hallooowen u dont have preq u just exist and hold 1 button c. every activity other than training is "wasting time" but thats not related
Just make a Pierre Token or something similar and then let you buy the chair and or a hat would be nice, but I'm unsure if you can distribute a godly hat in this way.
Just add Pierre hat to this, I feel. If you exchange over 20 Pierre's Surprise Boxes I will reward you with a Zombie Army Ring if you don't already have one. I will also reward you with a Pierre Hat if you don't already have one.
just saying... I find easier 1 zak wich is guaranteed 5 helms rather than 20 pierres even if its a 1 button hold thing(its the pre quest that makes zak anoying)
Because it's an event item that is only rewarded for a limited time every year, there's similar event items that is only obtainable for a limited per year that is very desirable for players like for example the Valentine's Event ring or the Christmas event nose.
Just will also put in my 2 cents here. I agree with a lot of the other pros here regarding balancing and introducing a pity timer. I like how versalmas cheers are currently managed and this could go somewhere in line with that. The pity timing would need to at least be 1.5-2x the standard drop rate. I also think that the pity helm should just be an average helm. No god roll possible, not variance possible. Just 15/15/18/18 for blue or 18/18/15/15 for red. Whether the player gets to pick from either of the helms is really up to the team, I can see arguments for and against. I think pierre hat is decently balanced given the lvl 70 requirement and typical is only available 3-4 weeks during the year. Having the pity timer ~ 2x the drop rate also still make it something that requires quite a bit of time. The effort involved should basically mirror the philosophy that went into the zakum alternative quest line. Another point that was raised is the untradeable chair system. I venture to guess that out of Alluring Nine Tail fox and Zombie Bean, the players here are talking about the zombie bean. I also think it would be good for the team to rethink the drop rate of the zombie bean. Over last year and this year, I have opened well over 1000 pierre boxes and have managed to get 2 zombie beans. Let's say that I've just been really unlucky and the actual drop rate is 1 in 250, that is still extremely low. Suppose a player would like to get the zombie bean on one particular character, realistically speaking, a very diligent player can perhaps do 4 pierre runs per day, which would be just above 100 openings per year (assuming we get the full 4 weeks). Even so, that is 2 and half years worth of pierre for this player to have a 67% shot at getting the zombie bean. Suppose the player is one lucky duck of the 20 group of plaeyrs, and fell 2 standard deviations away from the mean, they'd have to spend 5 years doing pierre before getting the zombie bean on their desired character. I really like the idea that we could introduce a token of some sort where we could work towards the untradeables year on year. This way at least they feel like they are a step closer to their goal. You could even make the exchange rate something ridiculous like 10-20 tokens for 1 zombie bean. You can even make the token itself untradeable and fairly uncommon/ rare like 1 in 15 or 20. As long as you give the players something to look forward to. As it stands, it seems like the zombie bean has an incredibly low drop rate and performing just a bit unfavorably can lead to some soul crushing grindings when you look into the numbers.
