Well, I've noticed a lot of friends mentioning about a lack of a general NPC in Temple of Time, and often we have to fly all the way to Leafre if we want to pot /NPC stuff. Would the staff be willing to add a general/potions NPC to ToT? I'm not sure how difficult it is to do so, but it would be quite a nice feature for the players who currently train there. Any thoughts and opinions?
I don't think it's a big deal, walking back to town to NPC and re-pot. The distance between ToT and Leafre is about the same as the distance between Leafre and Skelegons.
It is different because of the flying. You can door from leafre to skelegons, but you can only door from training map to ToT corridor, meaning you have to fly the rest of the way to leafre and then back. I'm neutral on this issue unless somebody can give a good justification. The way I see it is that there is an element of laziness expressed
I usually carry 6000 ginger ales on my Bishop. Just make a storage mule and it should be fine to do so.
There's a huge difference between Skeles and ToT in that you can Door to and from Skeles but you can't use Door anywhere in ToT afaik. (Have tested the first 2 grinding maps and Door doesn't work on them, am assuming it's the same for all.) The reason why I would assume that Door doesn't work in ToT is that you have to complete prequests to get to each subsequent map so maybe it's to prevent people from being doored into maps they shouldn't be able to access yet? However, since the map throws you back out if you access it prior to completing the prequests, I would have thought it would do the same to people who are doored into the map. However, personally I'd far rather see an NPC (a copy of the leafre pot shop npc) added to the Three Doors map than have Door partially working in ToT, as the whole point of us adding ToT was to offer high level NON-Bishop training, and needing to have a Bishop with you kind of defeats the object IMO.
By the way you guys know that you only have to dragon fly through one map, right? If you hit the bottom in the first map you go to leafre. If you hit the bottom in the second map you go to ToT. So that cuts the annoying flight in half.
What about hermits/night lords who need to recharge? Sure, I carry 1k pots on an alt and transfer through storage, but what about needing to recharge 30 sets of stars? An NPC in town with general potions like Leafre would be helpful.
I was thinking about the ToT mythology, where no human can enter ToT so I did some digging. Nexon did apparently add a (not so basic) NPC merchant "Johanna" in their v.115 - Mutiny Aug. 03, 2012. During that patch they revamped the whole ToT area and all the quests.
Glad to see so many responses for and against this. While I can see why some people may not feel it is necessary to add it, I still think what's nice is the convenience factor for: 1. Thieves, Gunners 2. People who want to NPC stuff And it could probably be seen as an extra boon to encourage people to try and move on to explore these new maps! But if it isn't added, that's no problemo either. Thanks for considering this suggestion!
Alternatively, you could station an alt by a pot store elsewhere and have it buy pots, sell your junk equips/etc, and recharge your stars/bullets for you via FM, or you could stock loads of pots in your storage and retrieve them when you need. ^ The way nexon designs the temple and the quests shows they are determined to make life as miserable for you as possible while you're in ToT.
Trading 20-30 sets of stars to an alt in FM, going to town to recharge, then going back and re-trading would take just as long if not longer than going to the few maps back to leafre. >_> Plus you'd lose out on the extra, what, 200+ stars you get from mastery? (I dont know if gunslingers get extra bullets with mastery, never played one)
True you do lose out on the extra stars from mastery. Just offering a suggestion, since that's what I do when I train at zombies in el nath. I find an isolated spot in the fm and drop trade with pets out so it auto-loots, which speed things up a bit. The further you are into the temple, the more viable this method becomes.
Bumping an old conversation. Now that you can use door in ToT, adding an npc would be a world of difference for people who want to recharge ammo or sell stuff to npc. An mmorpg where only a few maps are in use for training and farming is bad for the economy and the overall fun of the game. Making maps like ToT a little more inviting doesn't really do any damage to the game. Being able to just use a town scroll / door to npc your items, then tp rock / door to return training/farming would really help making those maps a bit more popular, and maybe even help relieve pressure from the ulu maps (as npc fodder farmers would start moving out, and people who just train would be incentivised to move up as well). It's a problem if i can earn more in worse maps just because npcing takes away from my time actually fighting in ToT. Btw i bet there's a more updated conversation somewhere in the forums, but now that search feature is broken, i could only rely on google...
