So, this is an odd error I got ever since i tried getting into private servers in the last 2 years. Whenever I do anything on this list: 1)change a channel 2)enter the cash shop 3)exit the game There's an incredably high chance to get kicked out of the game (kinda normal for case 3 though), then when you attempt to log in quickly it will say you are connected (not really out of the ordinary, reopening the game fixes that), but if you wait a bit to try and get into the game (wherever you decide to close the game first or not), you will be able to reach until the character selection page, select a character, and as soon as you do that, you see a black screen for 1 second or 2, then you get the message "Unable to connect to the game server (try to log in another time)". After you get that message, you will get the "this id is already connected" issue, hence, you need to reopen the client. Even after resetting the client there's a really high chance the account will still be stuck this way (i need to open another account to test if this is an IP issue or an account issue). It seems the severity of being locked out is on this scale: Cash shop>Change channel>Exit the game via the exit button. exiting through unconventional means like D/C and Alt+F4 seems to do more damage, but haven't happened too many times to be able to accurately tell how bad it makes the login experience be. So, not only am I not able to access the cash shop like everyone else and use my NX vote points, i can't even change a channel in any safe mean (because even exiting can trigger the bug). Also, this bug can sometimes chain with another known bug, i can get locked in the cash shop by trying to get in because it instantly kicks me out which is one way to get stuck there, then my account is dead until next server check. I tried playing on other v62 servers and expereinced the same problem, so it cannot be in your servers. it's either something in the source code, my pc, or my connection to your servers. But here's the thing, i tried playing on this server a year ago with a different pc, same problem. That one was on windows 8.1, this one is on windows 10. I tried every compability mod available, tried changing the DPI settings, and even changed the file to read only and open as admin. I tried running the game without firewall, or closing all other aplications on the pc. No effect. My game connection is almost always stable unless there's a global server issue occuring. (also, no, I did not try to log in while the server is down or in times of bad connection, it happens even when the server is working at top shape) I'm seriously out of ideas when it comes to solving this problem on my own, i checked the forums for help and asked in the live chat and in a discord server of mapleroyal players, and no one seems to hold an answer. Basically, you admins are my only hope in finding a solution, and it would be really helpful if you could give me some advice.
I found out what was the cause of the problem, after i came back from my appartment to my parent's home, i realized that this bug doesn't exist here. This pc was initially in my apartment before i swapped the pc and brought it here so it cannot be the cause. Which leaves me with either the internet provider or the router. Anyways, either of them are not something anyone can help me with so i might as well call this bug "solved"
Third update on the bug, managed to learn more about this bug after some testing around it. i discovered it happens with any account on my pc, but also on a different pc on my internet connection (my roommate used the wifi and normal internet and saw the same issues). I learned a bit more about how the log in works: after selecting a character, and being kicked out with the "Unable to connect to the game server (try to log in another time)", you can also just wait until the character is free to log in again, no need to restart the game. Changing channels can some times work, but very rarely, most of the time it still causes the bug. Also, it seems like people can't send me friends invites as well, as it give them unspecified error when they send it, but i on the other hand, can still send friend requests to others. I can't send to an account that i own though (when i double client), i see the same error as other people (might not be related)
Try pinging royals.ms and show what kind of results you get. Also make sure MapleRoyals is on your firewall exception list. What kind of WiFi you have? Is it your own or public?
Pinged the site, nothing out of the ordinary, no packet losses, good connection overall. Must mention that the game plays smoothly when i manage to log in, it's only the issue of logging in itself, and the act of trying to cc or enter cs I do not play on wifi, im conneted through cable directly to my router.
I would suggest trying to portforward your router to allow all traffic through royals and your router. Open these ports For cash shop: 8485 TCP For all 20 channels: 7575-7594 TCP For login: 8484 TCP An admin could confirm these but I'm pretty sure they are correct
Hi, my friend. i konw this problem. That's the problem with your apartment network because of the network Load balancing. In order to improve network access efficiency, many enterprises use load balancing technology to improve network bandwidth and availability. It's very usefully for browse the web,but play the game is not. Because your public IP maybe change when you access different IP or TCP port. for example : PC → → Router (Public IP A) → → Mapleroyals Login port 8484 That's ok PC → → Router (Public IP A) → → Mapleroyals CC1 TCP port 7575 That's ok Then change channel . the load balancing device give you Public IP B PC → → Router (Public IP B) → → Mapleroyals CC2 TCP port 7576 tha's worng Because your Public IP B not have the authorication session. So this is your apartment network outlet set up the problem, if you really want to solve it, it is recommended to use your computer to try VPN
Sadly, VPN services are pretty expensive, so i don't think i will go to VPN just to be able to play a private server. So, do you think there are any other options that could make this work? I plan on swapping my [really] old router soon, do you think it has anything to do with the router, or is it the internet provider's fault? Or can i do nothing without VPN because it's in the apartment's network infrastructure? P.S i'll attempt opening ports, but because you say you know that the problem is load balancing then it might not do much :/
Browse this website https://whatismyipaddress.com/ and refresh refresh refresh to check your public ip. if you see different public ip that mean your apartment's network use the network loading balance. So i think you can try to use some Gaming accelerator to fix this problem or use your phone to share the wifi point to play the game ( Maybe 100M-200M network traffic during 1 hour).
How old of a router are you talking about? It could easily be a hardware failure of your router not handling the traffic properly. If it's anything like wireless B or G it needs to go.
