It would be nice if you blacklist someone then you wont be able to see their smegas as well since some people can get annoying over time. Would such thing be possible?
I 100% support this thread. The point of blacklisting is to completely ignore that person due to whatever had happened between the two people. To blacklist someone really takes a decent amount of hatred and a good motive, so also blocking that persons smegas would seem fitting to the term, and would also prevent further problems.
But how would you see Gardian's daily "Are all girls pretty and cutie just now?" if you blacklist him? T__T
I would like to add: When you blacklist someone: - you cannot find him with /find [ign] - you cannot whisper him / him whispers me - You cannot see the dot in mini-map of that person - Cannot see any kind of smegas of him [TV smega, normal smega, item smega] - Cannot see weather smega of him - Cannot trade him / him trades me - Cannot invite to my pt/guild or him invites me to his pt/guild
These: - they can not whisper you - you can not see their smegas, regardless of type - you can not see their weather smegas - they can not trade you - they can not invite you to their party or guild No to the others, as they affect the choices of the player himself. Also, a mute of everything they say in the all chat. But still think about it, they had to spend millions on mesos per smega already, I think it would only be fair for their smegas to be able to reach as wide of an audience as possible.
Bumping this as I think it's really worth the coder's time to impliment at least some of the features suggested in this thread. The blacklist feature honestly feels weaksause, it doesn't achieve the things its ment to achieve, blocking a person from your experience as much as humanly possible. I never felt like blacklisting someone helped me in the ways i wanted it to, some of the features above would make it a completely different story
The in-game blacklist is entirely client sided, and causes your client to block certain messages and actions being done by the listed character names (I believe it is also case-sensitive). None of the names you enter there can be checked by the server when processing megaphones (or anything else that isn't blocked natively by the client), and therefore the blacklist function in-game cannot be modified to block things it currently doesn't block.
What if we don't piggyback on the existing in-game blacklist, but create an entirely new function that enables the option to block out specific people. Is that something more feasible to do?
By reading the coding or client side stuff, can you tell me what does Blacklist function do to the ign we enter?? As what I am experiencing, it doesn't do anything to those igns! We need BLACKLIST Revamp!
I strongly disagree with this feature as learning to get along (or in this case put up) with people is part and parcel of life.
Trust me, people get their fair share of experience irl. But when they turn on their pc and load up royals from a long day. The last thing they want to deal with is internet trolls or assholes. There’s nothing wrong with not wanting to deal with someone, especially when you dont know him.
@Matt if we cannot "checked by the server when processing megaphones (or anything else that isn't blocked natively by the client)" Can we we atleast have a notification in red in chat screen to notify us about the blocked people? Something like "There is a person who you blocked in this party" whenever I enter any pt that have people I blocked Same goes with Guild and Alliance. Today I went in a pt with a toxic Bishop, I don't wanna be in same pt with him again in the future.
