I hope to feedback about buffing 1H warriors. Currently, the Guardian skill is available to Paladin and Hero, who are equipped with a shield. The max level skill allows Guardian to block against enemies attack with success rate of 15%. Since 1H damage multiplier is lesser than 2H, I would suggest buffing Guardian success rate to 20% or 25%. Buffing this skill encourages more warriors, especially heroes, to go on 1H and it may add slightly more balance between 1h and 2h. Just a food for thought. Feel free to share your ideas, opinions or discussions. Thank you and have a great weekend ahead!
I think this would be a nice alternative for 1h warriors in terms of a buff, instead of a boost in damage you get a nice trade off with a defense boost or more of a chance to block attacks. I do however want more of a discussion with other weapons such as axes/polearms/blunt weapons/staves and other alternatives getting a buff so that we can have more weapon diversity.
Like previously said, if anything, buff axes, blunt weapons and staves. Not so much polearms since they have their own speciality for grinding quicker as a dk. It would be nice to see each weapon have its own separate purpose of use. Making one handed weapons having more of a defensive upgrade is a nice thing to consider
30 skill point for 15% is just so wrong in my opinion, since people mostly care about the damage, and 1H users not only get lesser attack (assuming ideal conditions e.g. >stoppers, SI etc) but spend 30sp on this skill, buffing it to at least 25%-30% chance would at least give 1H a slight niche in the defense department. Shield mastery is already a joke, and it's not really royals' fault since the skill design was already bad in the first place, but we can try to make this semi-viable!
Good idea. Maybe an idea to give pallies 30% and heroes 20%, like shadow shifter 40% for shadower vs 30% for NL. Pallies should be the best tanks, because their damage is already bad hmk
I would love a buff to guardian, although I would think it would need something more than just a buffed guard chance. I think a change to shield mastery would be in order to give people more of an incentive to switch to 1h/shield or to go for it from the start. Having shield mastery increase overall defense when wearing a shield instead of just increasing the defense of the shield itself might be a good stepping stone to something more in depth like a guardian buff. But still, the main thing people want is damage, so they will still prefer burning pots and having a good damage multiplier from a 2h weapon instead of good defenses. It's tough to get people to like 1h weapons, especially swords.
It definitely would, but it still wouldn't make people give up their dps for a bit more tanking ability. There would need to be something more to draw people over. Even though I don't prefer using 2 handed swords over 1 handed/shield, if I was someone who had a good stonetooth/claymore, I wouldn't want to take the time to get a good shield and sword just for a few guards for a boss, but that's just how I think others would react. I still personally would use this ability like crazy.
I feel like this is somewhat pointless due to stance being a thing. If anything this helps to slightly decrease the chance of you being knocked back a bit. Stance currently is 90% at max level, so every time u get hit, you have a 10% to get knocked back. With max guardian, you basically have an 8.5% to get knocked back (assuming guardian stays at 15%). Even if you double guardian's success rate (30%), you then have a 7% to get knocked back. Heros and paladins all have better things to max. I don't see hero's getting this skill until like after brandish, aca, stance, rush, and maple warrior, So it wouldn't even come into play until 17x. TLDR; Even if buffed, guardian is still trash.
i love guardian, especially when it saves me from 1/1 during sed or when my pet fails. A higher % block chance buff could do wonders.
I kinda like the idea for a weaker attacker that can, by default, do bosses without washing. Its a nice gateway to new players who cant afford a wash at the start to work on a chara that can still easily survive HT without washing. The price will be a slightly weaker 1h build, but for some this is really unimportant as they just want to experience the end game, not dominate it. Giving higher defense to all your armor and higher block chance from both of the shield skills might open a new path for 0 washing that doesnt rely on HB
