Hey guys, I was just wondering do you think MapleRoyals has any future thoughts of making this game with a Mac client? All of my friends want to play but have macbooks, I just think it would be a great idea for the game, as Apple products are pretty popular nowadays.
If your friends had money to buy a MacBook, they should have enough money to buy a 300$ laptop with the same performance. Mac client isn't coming, they say it is, but they are being too ambitious.
You can use bootcamp to run windows 7 on your mac, it's not as good as a proper mac client but gets the job done!
You can dual boot a windows os on your laptop, or use a virtual box to run windows. Making the client run with mac doesn't seem like a thing they'll be able to do anytime soon
I've been trying to get the client to run in WINE for years to no avail. I'm honestly still a bit pissed that the devs yanked support from 2 OSes for new source, but what can you do. It's best to move on to a proper v62 server which can run in WINE.
If it's a response from staff you'd like, I can confidently say there isn't going to be a new mac client in the future. It was far too much work to keep up on two clients and they wanted to focus their energy into the bugs of the more popular client to ease workload.
https://store.vmware.com/store?Acti...ocale=de_DE&SiteID=vmwde&productID=5223184000 If you can afford a crapbook, you can afford proper coded software aswell to run Windows XP on a Virtual Machine and thus running Royals on your System. If you complain about the devs making a rational decision, why not complain about Apple instead? This server lives of voluntary work, not off billions of $.
