Hi Royallers, As you all know, the recent patch has taken away the light from our fellow brothers and sisters that are playing marksmen, Snipe hitting through weapon cancel was not only a highlight of the class but a motivation for one to make Marksmen as a main. The developers claimed to have 'fixed' a 'bug' but also unknowingly nerfed the overall DPS of marksmen. Hi developers of MapleRoyals, when a bug is fixed and it cause a nerf to a class, there ought to be something to cover it up. So i will let the players do their suggestions here ... and also vote the poll! Note to devs : Marksman are not corsair or NL or Shad or Bucc that could take a nerf like that, Marksman barely has the DPS of a BM even with a weapon cancel snipe, so imagine how our fellow marksmen are feeling

Can some of the people who voted no provide some insight? Marksmen are clearly not OP, so I would love to know why you think the nerf was deserved?

Weapon cancel needs to deny damage from all attacks, thats its thing. I'm all for that change, but i agree that it hurts the dps of mms in bosses that WC often (zak, painus, scar and targa, that new battleship boss etc etc) This is an opportunity to give mms a bit of a boost to their overall damage. But, so far, i haven't seen a constructive suggestion for HOW MMs will be buffed, just if they deserve one, that approach will get you guys nowhere. If you guys really care for the class, try and do some basic calculation of your dps before the update and after it on selected bosses, then suggest a buff that would increase the dps accordingly. Did anyone here really checked if he's segnificantly slower in bosses?
Snipe was always the exception to that rule, it was a well known feature, understood by anyone learning about or playing the class that it was a capability they had. Through all the many, many skill changes, overhauls, and complete reworks, the fact that snipe was the exception to the rule for so long, (including here), should make it obvious was an intended unique ability of the skill it always had. Theres no way it, of all skills, was ironically not flagged and continued ued to be unflagged to break through cancel. The calculation is the total duration of cancel combined in the entirety of a boss fight, divided by four seconds X 200k. It's a variable number but it's easy to calculate A *lot* of suggestions were made actually base % increases and more, anyone who hasn't can read here: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/marksman-feedback-snipe-nerf-poll-inside.146687/ Calculations are helpful, but anyone can do them, so any dev considering X change to make will also make them, it's not necessary for us to do every formula to impress you enough, and as many have pointed out, pure calculation will never reflect all variables that go in to effecting an actual outcome, they can only ever calculate the average best, or absolute beat possible output, which will never happen, even at krex 2
You dont need to impress me (i never implied that), but you do need to sell your case to matt and tim. And they said before that calculations based on reality impress them more than suggestions swayed by bias and emotions. I have not noticed the second thread, its kinda stupid that two feedback threads on the same subject are open right now
Replace bias and emotion with experienced input (all of it quite modest in the name of creative potential possibilities or springboard concepts to consider from). Any emotion is from people who invested a lot if time into a class with an uber niche feature (that helps boss runs in almost no way over 135) being taken And this thread is the second thread, I started a mm feedback thread before the nerf. If you aren't interested, by all means, dont post if you don't even care to read already existing feedback
Sure weapon cancel needs to do its thing, but skill descriptions are not so well elaborated, and apparently it was always an intended feature (2 points to discuss here). I agree that providing maths to substantiate our feedback is good, after playing around with the damage calculator I think it still sucks MM is worst range dps late game but either way difference from other classes (aside from Corsair and NL) is not too crazy but there’s not much better reasons to pick MM unless you actually like the playstyle. The calculation from MM is gonna be anecdotal anyways since how are we going to calculate the loss in dps specifically during weap cancel if it’s random, I’m guessing MMs will be like “oh it used to be 10mins and now it’s 12mins..” which is not very accurate either. I feel like it’s a mindset difference too. Players who dislike the change may think “MM is alr the weakest range class can you please stop taking more things away” while Staff stance seems to be “it doesn’t affect you THAT much and no maths so moving on..”. Well I say ‘seems’ because even after 4 pages of discussion on another thread and this thread on Snipe specifically, we haven’t gotten any reply on what they think so I really don’t know. Lastly, unpopular opinion here but it feels like a double standard. Fix this “issue” about Snipe sure, but let’s ignore the exploit that lets BM alt tab hurricane because yeah that’s not a big issue.
