I think its a horrible degisign of old maplestory 4th mastery book system. After couple days of hard grindings, I finally saved enough money to buy Gen20. It failed first time. Then I back to grinding for a couple days, and got another one. Guess what, I failed again. It just so frustrated as a reward to your hard grind. And I dont think its a friendly design either, thanks.
Would you rather pay 700m for each book that already has a fairly high chance of passing (70%) Or up to 4b+ for a 100% book (which I believe would be reasonable for guaranteed pass)
I went 74 chests dry at barrows (osrs) which works out to be a 0.3% chance of that happening. my mate won 2 grand at the pokies. he put in a $20 note. a 93 year old guy smoked since he was 13 and hes still kicking on, a 23 year old personal trainer got AML and chemo made him lose all his gains rng destroys lives, it makes millionaires out of nothing. I hate it. you hate it. but it exists.
Not really the correct argument, cause this is not real life, its a game where the rules can be changed. And to OP, i know your pain, i wasted 3.5b on blizzard 30 back when they costed 0.5b a pop because of bad RNG, which was extra painful cause i made my money without selling leech, and my mage was my only character. But sadly, in mmos, effort doesnt always = progress, rng is baked into every facet of the game's design. Its something you must accept as you play games of this nature. What's the difference between SB use and scrolling? Some people put much more meso on the line on scrolling than you used on your SB, and lost it all. Why should SB get the exception? Just recover, and have another swing at that SB, or use your meso to get stronger via non-rng methods like buying gear.
this. everything is so damn expensive. failing a 650m book is hard on me and my family. what else am i meant to buy? 2att facestompers? nty
I agree with nerfing Mastery Book drop rates, especially the ones at Skele / heavily farmed maps. However making them 100% chance to work is just silly. MapleStory was all about risk & reward plus as Nyanya said you'll just be making Gen / MW skyrocket in price and then everyone will be mad.
I agree with this. A core part of the Maple experience is the risk/reward aspect of scrolls and books. Taking this away would remove an important tenant of why this server exists. However, I don't know if decreasing the drop rate at skele's is wise economically since the map has a lot of great drops already and increasing the scarcity of books might tip the map into an old ULU 2 esque level dominance for farming maps. Hey man, a single failure isn't that bad. I failed genesis 20 and 30 two times each when they were at the peak of the prices this year (850M and 1.8M respectively) and there are people who had even worse luck than mine. (5+ MW20 attempts).
i too enjoy the luck factor but for something such as skillbooks i think i'd rather pay more idk is what it is im over it now and im back stronger than ever!!!!!!! may the good lord in heaven have mercy on their soul
I remember spending 200m in maplesea on mw20, and then they released mastery books for 10m from npc. Nostalgic xD My 200m book failed...
nexon did u dirty i got a chaos from gach this morn, traded with some apples for TT30 and failed for the 2nd time got some comfort chocolate tho dw about me, turkish delight
I k ow ur feeling bro, in my personal experience ,not with mastery books like with chaos scrolls % are a bitch sometimes but....chances are pretty much o e of the most important pilars of the game...except ofc by power scamste 90% that shet is a lie
