New users who join the forums who wants to start a private conversation will not know about the 50 messages/post rules. Even in the forum rules, this requirement is not found. In fact, there is no official thread or announcement for new users to learn about this. Leading them to either posting the same question regarding this either on the forums or the shoutbox, over and over again.

So this what I suggest. Bring back the Start a Conversation option, but this message will appear for users who do not reach the 50 messages threshold.

Yeah, this is definitely a good idea. I didn't even know this was a thing until someone posted it in shoutbox. -.-'

That's the best I can do. If it doesn't work, I'll remove it. :)

People also don't read the rules before hacking and claim ignorance, which is why I don't think it was even considered to be added to the TnC (it's also not a rule, just a forum permission restriction). lol

It wasn't an issue till people started reporting new forum accounts spamming advertisements for various things/and/or people getting PM's from recently banned accounts about how to evade/etc.

If possible, the best thing we could do is have it pop up like in OP's post, or list an explanation when going to conversations, but I don't know how feasible that is within xenforo. @Chokladkakan would probably be able to tell us if that's possible, or what avenues can go thru to make it known to people when they want to make a conversation but don't meet the requirement.

There's no (particularly good) way to have the button to start a conversation still present for users without permission to start conversations. Putting explanatory text somewhere on https://royals.ms/forum/conversations/ is perfectly doable. What it should say is, I suppose, up for debate if we were to go that route.
