Ok so this is a minor thing but hey, if anything im giving Matt content to read when hes in the bathroom.

I recently started to play with my game sounds on again for the first time in years. And i immediately had to turn it back off. It started when I joined a cake and the audio of the auto attacks hitting the cake are so unnecessarily louder than they should be. This same thing applies to Mages when they ult large groups of mobs. The impact and the collective sounds of them dying is so loud it is easily 2 or 3 times louder than I have the game set to. Im sure there are other examples of this, so if anyone has examples feel free to add to the list but i wouldnt mind seeing if we couldnt maybe even out the audio some so that these things arent nearly as loud? Theres no way anyone likes this, and if anything it makes turning game sounds on nothing but a headache to listen to. I've forgotten how cool and immersive some of the the spell effects and sounds of skills are. Id like to be able to use them without my ears bleeding.

    Cheers.

Haha your first paragraph made my day~f2

I usually turn on my sounds at very low volumes, as long as I can faintly hear the sounds. So when there's large mobs its slightly above average.

I love the sound of large groups of mobs dying in unison. I dont like how loud the audio becomes when i do it. Either i turn the sound down so low that i cant hear the spell effects so the ults arent so bad or just turn off since the reason i have the sounds on is for the immersion

I actually feel alot of difference playing with and without sound. The bgm kinda sets the mood and with those cute hit splat sounds really make me love maple. I noticed that its way too annoying in cake boss though.

What it makes it loud its the mixed sound of skill and dying at the same time, when the ulti manage to hit over 10 mobs theres 10 ulti sound +10 mobs dying.
Despite i like the mob sound ehen they die..i can totally understand why it bcomes anoying.
Also as a main drk, the posibility of separate skill sounds of mob ones, would be really useful.Since some bosses like anego have to be killed by paying atention to the sound she does when youre in a party it makes it really hard to actually hear the mobs sound, wich makes,at least for me, those boss unkillable in a 3ppl+ pt.
But im aware that this isnt something urgent now, and maybe kind of hard to change, so i wouldnt expect a change of this any time soon

The big BTOOM noise when your ult hits the max number of mobs is honestly so satisfying and I would hate to see it go.

The reason ultis in particular make so much noise is because of how this game processes sound. For almost any skill, there's the sound of casting the skill, and the sound that is produced when a mob is hit. The issue with ultis, is that they hit all the targets at once, which means the sound effect plays exactly at the same time, up to 15 times if you hit the max amount of mobs. When that happens, the sounds that match perfectly simply amplify the original sound. Because its a simple addition, sounds blows up in volume very quickly.

My suggestion to ultis, is simply stagger the hits of the skill. Many other skills do that, instead of hitting everyone at the same frame, stagger the hits on the mobs by a frame or two between each one. This will avoid the sound amplification issue, so no ear rapes (but it will sound slightly messy).

And a suggestion for cake, and any event boss really: matt, just remove the hit sounds from the files, it not like we can even enjoy that sound when it plays 500 times every second, so its better if it was simply gone. Its not like there will be complete silence, we'd still hear people swinging weapons and jumping, but these sounds are far less aggressive.

Im not asking for it to go. Im asking for it to be less loud if that makes sense haha. Its significantly louder than what you have your sounds set to. Its just jarring to hear. This isnt meant to be feedback that i expect full attention to. More like when they have time maybe small tweaks to the audio levels of certain instances. Cake and event mobs like cake being prime examples
