Some years ago, there was a MapleStory server called Extalia, I think a lot of people have played, but that's not the focus of the topic, so in Guild Party Quest there was a prize called Lightning God Ring (LGR) and it cost about 600m-1b and he had a low rate to receive it on the GPQ's award map and that stimulated two things:
    * Hope to get the ring to later sell it and consequently get mesos to buy items or buy leech.
    * Competition between the guilds to see who is in TOP1 in the ranking.

In the Royals, the economy is very different from four months ago, the scrolls of Chaos Scroll and White Scroll are very expensive, as are the craft items like Stormcaster Gloves and Facestomper and even the items that are sold in cashshop as the AP Reset.

The Guild Party Quest could award either of the two Scrolls (Chaos or WS); so that they stimulate the GPQ and consequently lower prices to have a more fluid economy and also help beginner players to get money in a fun way, after all, who never spent hours and hours going GPQ with their friends?

Sounds like something I'd do to improve the popularity of GPQ. :p

Yes, the prizes she gives these days are not very attractive and it's worth more doing other things than going GPQ, I'm glad you liked the suggestion :)

I like the idea of boosting rewards for GPQ (whenever that's reintroduced—hopefully Soon™), but I'd caution about adding White Scrolls or Chaos Scrolls to that reward pool.

To my knowledge, it's quite possible to trio, duo, or even solo GPQ. There are also guilds that operate with mechanical efficiency *takes a quick look at the Thanksgiving Pie Rankings*. If White Scrolls or Chaos Scrolls becomes farmable through this medium, GPQ could become a dominant source of income; this would, in turn, create an imbalance in the economy. Even though there's arguably a shortage of these 2 scrolls, this is not the sustainable solution I'd like to see.

Perhaps we could add White Scrolls or Chaos Scrolls as a possible drop from the boxes, but at a very low rate. Or better yet, introduce other rewards that are still enticing but not as valuable, such as iTCG craft items or scrolls like Shield for Magic Att 60% or Earring for INT 30%, etc.

It does not necessarily have to be White Scroll or Chaos Scroll, it just needs to be something that helps to lower prices, because what you could buy before selling 3-5 hours of leech, now you have to sell double and it's scary and that also stimulates the GPQ's going

To stimulate GPQ not dropping too many of them, give characters a limit of GPQ per day. Lets say 4-5 GPQs a day on any single character. Could even be less if that would be better.

Buffing GPQ, yes. But adding Chaos or White Scrolls as a reward will only add another avenue for RWTers.

However, CS/WS would in my opinion, be deemed a bit too "OP".

I was a player of Extalia, for a long time and got to end-game on Extalia as a Xenon (for what it's worth Extalia's end-game was more or less Gollux equips and the works).

GPQ was a huge part of Extalia because it added an additional method of gaining mesos that lower ranged members couldn't do (Pre-Bossing). Members who weren't capable of bossing at the time as a result of less time invested into the game (thus preventing them from growing their damage at a decent rate) and members who simply weren't "grindy" used GPQing as a method of making money to help them progress throughout the game.

I personally believe Extalia's rewards for GPQ were great, when players first started to GPQ each run more or less guaranteed a decent profit, HP/MP/Elixir/Power Elixir Chairs were going for 2-300m each, Lightning God Rings were going for 800m each etc etc, but of course as time went on and more and more members started doing GPQ (Because they saw how profitable it was) the prices dropped, the chairs went to 10-50m each, and LGRs stayed at a stagnant 3-400m(?) I believe.

I personally think Extalia had a pretty good economy, everything was more or less balanced in a certain way with one big flaw being the server focusing and being ran by a "PQ" System, however the economy itself was more or less how I expected a regular maplestory server to be ran "properly". Things in demand had a huge price, and items that used to have a huge price tag fell in price because something either better came around or it wasn't BiS anymore.

With that said, I personally do think the GPQ Reward should have a decent buff, adding drops that aren't too pricey (Such as certain scrolls, skillbooks, or equips) would be beneficial to early-game / mid-game members of the server. It'll give members who aren't extremely grindey something to do, and people who don't have much time to grind (As a result of real life events) a chance to make at least some profit without having to go hunt out a map that is profitable.

I recommend sub level 100 equips, scrolls, skillbooks, crafting equipment, ores, GPQ exclusive chairs and more to be added to GPQ to make it more rewarding and attractive to members of the server. Simple things like this adds a decent amount of content to early and late game players alike. It givesm embers who enjoy collecting things such as chairs, a reason to grind, and gives early game members an opportunity to find potentially upgraded equips, or pricey scrolls.

As long as everything is done properly with the drop rate and the chance in which certain drops can be obtained, the current market will only be barely affected and if anything, might stabilize the market by adding an additional source to certain items that doesn't only fall back on 100% grinding and hunting monsters.

I feel like GPQ rewards should receive a buff for sure. However, I'm not sure chaos/white scrolls would be a good solution because it might feel too OP and overpopulate GPQ.

However, I liked the idea of adding gachpon tickets or NX cash rewards from the GPQ bonus stage, maybe some rare chairs?

GPQ could reward something like a belt and maybe those Kerning Square accessory scrolls if they work?

Would be rad to get belts in the game lol

Please don't necro a 3 years old thread. GPQ, and the server in general has seen a lot of change since this original post was made.

Hello! Just to give some transparency I will let you all know that staff are still actively discussing potential changes to rewards for GPQ. But yes, given that this thread is almost three years old and many things have likely changed since then, I would suggest creating a new thread for any renewed discussion on the matter. I will be locking this thread.
