Soooo, i'm not sure if this has been suggested before, but i'm giving it a shot. the 'problem': right now, if u wanna sell or buy items that are above the meso cap (2.14b), you are 'forced' to use the forums or smegas(if u r1ch). although this system works for us right now, i believe there's a way to make things a tat more efficient. the 'solution': cancel the limit on store prices (the 2.14b). before u start shouting, let me explain. although the store-price's meso limit would be canceled, people would still be unable to buy items that are above 2.14b (cuz u yourself can't possess more than 2.14b). "wait Jon, so why would we implement this change if we can't actually buy the items that are above the meso limit?" That's a good question my invisible annoying audience, for the following reasons: 1)Such an act would help sellers and buyers alike to manage to better find or sell their desired item. (lets say i wanna sell 15wa BFC, i can just smack that in my store for 10b as a form of advertisement, or when u wanna buy mw20 and none in stores cuz they all aim for 2.3b) 2) Although it would be extremely helpful for us sellers and buyers, it wont replace the forum's marketplace, it would be just another tool to help us be more efficient A little note: if u implement this suggestion, it won't have any effect on the cs/ws 500m currency whatsoever.
The above suggestion would require 2 separate programming variables for the meso value (other stuff such as player inventory + store display), not sure if the game can work in that manner *this would likely require a rework of how the store merchant/permit works For example, the meso held by the player would be INT (max limit of 2147483647) while the meso value to display in-store would be unsigned INT (max limit of 4294967295) The amount of 4b+ is likely too low to display items value since perfect items can be like 20b or higher, so some may suggest the next limit (9223372036854775807) *this is about 9 quintillion
the how's i think we can let the devs think about a viable solution if there is even one. what I'm more interested about is if people actually want the suggestion to be implemented kekw.
The B coin is how they tackle the 2.147b meso Was wondering why you didn't suggest about displaying items value in B coins instead
if that's an easier solution (coding wise), I'm all for it. as long as the solution helps facing the current 'problem' that I presented, I'm definitely all for it.
I really like this idea. I also suggest a permanent owl. I also suggest stores lasting 7 days before needing to be re-placed. Going through each fm for a few certain items is fcking annoying, using an owl for every item, and every variant, is taxing and annoying. One of the worst parts of maplestory compared to other games which use Auction Houses or Grand Exchanges.
Do you understand why it is 2.147 its bc this game client is 32-bit client therefore the max is 2^(32-1) which is 2.147 billion same with max level of 200 exp req is 2.147b. Dont think they can implement 64 bit system given that maplestory released 64 bit in 2022
ic, that's good to know. so just putting stuff for a higher price the normal way won't do...I'm sure alternatives or ways to go around it can apply here. just throwing it out there but the suggestion @Dave Deviluke has made might be able to solve it, which is: an option to price sell and buy things with Bcoins in shops how realistic would that be?
Hold on that's actually a great idea! Probably a nightmare coding-wise, but if people could just price their stuff in B coins that could be super duper convenient for both sellers and buyers alike. That would also probably require a new feature for the FM owl to be able to present prices in B coins.

This is not easy to implement and it may be prone to duping. I don’t think it worth the time and risk to implement such function
