Mesos sink idea. A mesos Slot Machine where players can pay like 10m for for a chance to roll the slot machine. The reward maybe 1, 10, 100, 1k, 10k, 100k, 1m, 10m, 50m, 100m, 500m, and 1b. The chance of getting each reward is going to be different. Similar to the regular gach, players who scored the grand price will be automatically announced to the world
I was thinking this should be a permanent NPC to help balance the generated mesos vs sinked mesos in the long term.
So, you are targeting players who suffer from gaming addiction, and make them gambling addicts as well? Nice.
ive made a gambling system for my own server in diffrent game to gold sink, i must admit it did HELP a lot! people went crazy about it and with in 7 days it sank 50% of gold in my server.. people beg me to remove it away since "it swallow all their gold", i told them "control yourself and don't gamble it's there for those who want an easy buck" (nothing was easy about it LoL ) i think its might help here as well.. (tho i wont use it )
Is this a suggestion to help teach people a lesson so they will abstain from gambling IRL? If yes, then OK approved. Didn't Mr. Pickall (did I get that NPC correct?) steal people's mesos though? Or did I dream that / confuse with some server of the past?
How about just use NX to pay for this machine? Paying mesos for mesos is not very relevant. I don't have the idea of how much NX per chance but I'd say 1k NX sound not bad since we only get 8k per day. But yeah, this is a good idea for meso sinking.
This is not meant to be an NX sink. Gachapon NPC is already 1k NX per ticket so that'd be redundant. A little confused on what youre trying to say. Youre correct it is not relevant as a NX sink, but very relevant as a mesos sink. This is meant to be an idea for mesos sink
I personally wouldn't mind something like this in the lounge. The easiest way would most likely have to be an NPC with a regular NPC window, however it may be difficult to make the interface look good rather than cheap and typical private-servery. I'd love for it to look like a proper slot machine with the spinning sections that you have to line up in a row to add an extra bit of excitement, but I have a strong feeling that it's not possible to have animated images in an NPC window. I do have a couple of other ideas for it though, so will have a think...

I assume the premise is that you loose mesos on average. I'm not a fan of this idea. It's a cheap game mechanic with no depth or interestingness at all. It's just plain gambling, which people could legitimately get addicted to.
Isn't that the case on scrolling items, gach, and anything involving luck in the game though? Statistically speaking you lose money on the long run scrolling your own stuff, so it's safer to buy pre scrolled item. Everything is a gamble, and this idea is really two folds: get people to try their luck and laugh about it, and sinking mesos back to the system to help slow down inflation or the devaluation of mesos. Edit** Yes the idea is statistically you will lose more than win, but there are always people who are extremely lucky that can get 3 white scrolls in a 35 ticket run, or people who can finish scrolling a perfect 7 slots weapon with 30% and 10% scrolls with under 20 white scrolls.
i have to agree with ImJakeFromStateFarm this fit to this game perfectly, since every single aspect of wealth gain in this game is based 100% luck, mesos gamble should not be any different. and speak from experience it does work and fast! small section of one of the scripts i had it's work!! not slot machine but dice gamble edit: sorry for the mess its LUA can't upload here :/
No, not really actually, gach is limited in terms of how often you can do it. Scrolling and gach are both more interesting than 'mesos in, mesos out'. If you scroll popular items you actually gain money in the long run. For whom does this idea actually improve the game? It sounds like a stupidity tax to me.
Statistically speaking it's always cheaper to buy pre scrolled item than scrolling your own unless you are lucky and beat the odds. I don't think I need to show you the math and example since it's pretty obvious. This stupid tax is exactly what we need to balance generated mesos vs. mesos leaving the system. If the total mesos held by all players in the game kept going up without an effective way to have a counter balance to take mesos out, mesos will slowly losing it's value and that's exactly what is happening. That's part of the reason the cost of ws/cs, leech, ap reset, etc are significantly higher now than a few years ago. Also what I'm suggesting is voluntary "tax" not mandatory like the fixed 3% mesos tax whenever you trade. If you don't like it, you an simply avoid it. Easy as pie.
Then why are people selling scrolled WGs, bathrobes and such? Sure if you only scroll one item, you are likely to not get what you want, but if you scroll many items, on average you will be able to make a profit. The reason I don't like it because some people are very susceptible to gambling addiction. These people often already struggle making money and this game-mechanic would only make it harder for them to save money. Yes, there are already luck-based systems in the game, however I think this is really a step closer to gambling than scrolling. It's easy for a non-addict to say 'if you don't like it, avoid it', and I will certainly personally avoid it, but for a gambling addict, it is not easy it all. Why implement a system that in general should be avoided and has the potential to cause great frustration and even addiction? Instead of implementing systems that sink mesos from the people that already have a hard time making money, maybe we could just decrease the meso rate overall.
