As per this thread: https://royals.ms/forum/threads/the-official-mapleroyals-wiki.259085/ We released the Official MapleRoyals Wiki at wiki.royals.ms If you believe something is missing, like features, filters, more information, more detailed information, want to report a bug, or just have general ideas on how to make it more user-friendly, do not hesitate to send us that feedback! We are happy to take a look, and improve the wiki, for a better experience for everyone.
Wiki should show if certain items come from gachapons, right now it currently doesn't I also think the catalog page should be the main page of the wiki and not a plain search bar
https://wiki.royals.ms/skills/1101006 So I decided to look up rage and noticed a few things missing: One of the reasons I kept using Scott's unofficial wiki even after he got double banned is that it has a section for all data fields, so you can see hitbox information and exact values. I personally found this pretty useful, and helped me learn things like MW size is same as ress. I don't see an option for that here, so all I can see is the duration and MP cost (and not the attack gained). It seems you forgot to update the wiki for the new patch skill changes too, as rage doesn't say that it stacks in the skill description, and surely you updated the description of all stackable skills in this patch to say so, right? Ress has a similar issue with the cooldown not being shown, which is the main upgrade from leveling it. While you can manually add all these fields, I think it'd be best to still have a raw data display for advanced users (and for if you missed anything as some skills have very random fields containing the relevant data), and I sadly will not be using it until this is available. I'd also recommend adding a list of gach rewards. Yes, I understand that this is technically a "secret" server-side list, but gach has been around long enough that the community should already know, so it'd be helpful to have a full list without people having to search up the community list. Of course any new gaches/exchanges shouldn't be listed until spaded, and rates also shouldn't be shown
As mentioned in the wiki announcement post, some things are excluded from the wiki, specifically anything that's not directly available in the game files itself, which includes gachapon items. As for the catalog page, it's a preference, so we made sure that anyone can choose and manage their own preferences; simply go to the catalog page, top right you'll see a cogwheel, press it and enable the toggle button for "Always show catalog":
You're right that we aren't showing literally all information, that's because for the first release, we're only releasing what people will be mostly looking at, so that kind of detailed information is indeed missing, however we are already planning to add that information in - and we even have a toggle that will be used for that, in the settings cogwheel you can enable "Show advanced info", which will eventually show more detailed information like the stuff you are looking for. That's for a later update for the wiki though, not available right now, just letting you know! As for updating, we did not forget to update the wiki, it is auto updating itself whenever we update the files; that means if it isn't showing in the description that Rage can stack, that's because we didn't change the description to include that. Cooldown is indeed a part we missed adding onto the wiki, good catch! And again, as mentioned in the wiki and my reply above; the wiki only shows things that can directly be extracted from the files, so anything public that the users would be able to otherwise verify themselves, which excludes things like Gachapon drops. However I will bring it up, but as I also mentioned in the clarifications & limitations of the wiki post - no guarantees!
If that's the case, I'm honestly not sure why I'd use the official wiki over the unofficial one, since the unofficial one actually tells me which items come from gachapons. Game wikis are traditionally pretty transparent about item sources, so leaving that out makes the site noticeably weaker in my opinion. Also from a UX perspective, I still think making the catalog the default landing page is an easy win. The blank search page is not very user friendly and only serves people who already know the exact name of what they want information about. What about the users that just want to browse around? Even though the setting to default to catalog is included there, the settings button doesn't even appear until you're already on the catalog page, so it's an opt-in feature that most people will never find. I didn't even know it was there until you pointed it out. On top of that the catalog page already has the same search bar so making it the default page takes nothing away from people who just want to search, while also including the users who want to browse the wiki. If anything, plain search toggle should be the optional toggle. Either way I think defaulting to the catalog while also making the search bar a bit more prominent seems like it would help the majority of users at no real cost. Again, this is just my opinion and I don't mean any of it as a diss towards the effort the team has put into this site, I just think some UX improvements could make the site a lot more nicer to use for players.
Of course that's a valid opinion, but it's not as easy to add and manage automatically, as it is with the game files themselves. The whole point of our wiki is to quickly look things up that again, are publicly available in the files, which I can't speak for how the other unofficial wikis manage that. While I disagree with the default landing page going directly to the catalog page, you bring up a good point about the settings cogwheel - will definitely try to figure out a better way to introduce it to people, and also make it accessible through the landing page itself. The catalog page does indeed have the same search bar, that's because we're including it for people who want to do the same broad search, even though they are in the catalog page, but your whole point about not knowing the cogwheel was even there, can be extended to people not even knowing the option for the search bar was there in the catalog, so it's a two-way issue, not really a simple fix by making it all go directly to the catalog page. Also I'd like to point out, definitely not taking this as a diss or anything, I like your point of view, since it's very much the opposite of mine, and I can't just depend on my own point of view! Definitely feels refreshing to have that, so I appreciate it more than you know! I'll of course bring up your arguments to the other staff members, and we shall have discussions about all this - that's what this whole post is about; feedback! So to be clear, just because I say I disagree, doesn't mean that's how it's going to be, I'm just also giving my opinion on the matters, but my opinions are not the deciding factor of course.
first of all what a great change this and the skills can't wait to try them all as cpq1 and cpq2 leecher (both fighter and Ice wizard) the stacking of att skills with pots is so blessed secondly i struggle finding parties for lhc as a night lord even now when im level 170 mostly because the avenger skill is inferior to all melee, i hope this 20% increase will change the drafting for the better, but anyways is blessed and welcomed the range of skills - beautiful - speaks for itself the remembering of previous pot , what an amazing idea , kudos to the one who thought about it , i often time find myself putting myself down for accidentally pressing a skill or another consumable or worst having some one in my party override it for me (they don't know i forgive them but still), so very welcomed now for something i found on wiki for improvement 3 things 1. the skill books do not display which level they are for, ex. if i search for genesis it shows me both skill books but doesn't say which one is 20 and which one is 30 until i press 1 of them and find out. And - its not like the first is definitely 20 and the second is def. 30, for some skills its like this for others its the other way around. 2.there is some overlap for some searches - didn't really searched for many examples but FOR example - hero's will - the skill - shows up 7 times and it is the same thing in all of them. 3. i understand some skills don't work on lhc monsters , such as web , or any time of stuns, but will taunt work on them? and could we have in the future the information of monsters (not bosses) that cannot be taunted and other skills as such? would help not a big deal if not but it will help me relay more on my abilities rather than seeking out in the game, although communicating in the game is not something to try to mitigate , we actually should help one another achieve the knowledge , and , the more accessible everything is outside the game , it perhaps will create less room for creative discussions amongst those who are new to those who are veteran? im a leader in a guild which is quite active ... one pupil told us that he and other lower level players feel pressured to be oriented towards leveling up and becoming more technical since most discussions focuses on boss runs & gear improvement rather than having fun , which is why some of us are here for (go figure) .. so i find myself thinkg about how to bridge the gap between self serving grind to having fun all across the board... that is where my previous notion comes from
Minor add; when sorting equipment by level and then clicking the arrow for ascending descending and selecting a specific equipment.. once I click "back to items" the page fails to remember to sort them by level/decending so I have to redo all the steps again. A pain to view different similar high level gear, for example
Appreciate you being open to it and hearing me out! Only thing I'd add is that a search bar on top of the catalog is a lot more visible than a setting that's inside a cogwheel button. A lot of the big wikis do exactly that, which is why I mentioned making the search bar more prominent so it includes all groups of users. But either way, thanks again for hearing me out and taking it to the team. It's a good resource and I'm sure it will only get better.
I've been looking forward to seeing what this would look like for a while now. This is awesome, great work! One suggestion I think would be a great addition, the forums can sometimes be a bit confusing, and it can be difficult to find "established" guides or important information like patch notes, events, class guides, party quests, boss information, pre-quests, etc. Having a dedicated section directly on the wiki would make them much easier to find and give players a reliable place to find important information. It could also help keep all of the core game knowledge in one central location instead of being spread across forum posts.
