The numbers does not even factor in Guardian procs which is also a DPS increase!!! If you don't have SI, it is still a competitive option among the other options that have been getting "more love". Most players are likely to have SI mules or party up with Buccs/corsairs often. You are more than likely going to have SI. Assumptions made: 1. If you're looking at an axe purchase, it's for a hero! So all assumptions is for the hero class only. (Not considering utility of 1h sword as heavily) 2. Average Level 150 character with ok-decent gear 3. Equal equipment (Cost wise) - All 1h weapons were calc'd with a 20wa/10str shield which is extremely affordable 4. Str/dex adjusted for ST to be able to wielded 5.
