After playing this pq for a few times, it suddenly dawned on me how much better designed this part of the event is compared to any other PvP event we had so far.
This event uses the automatic party grouping system that was introduced in last year's ballon PQ, which elimitated the ablity to coordinate with your opponents for trade wins from the anniversery of the year prior. This allows for relatevly quick setup of the event, while keeping the runs fair an competitve.
Next, the gameplay and reward encouraged participation of the player: The player earns points from picking up the eggs that drop from the mobs, which are both the points he uses for buying his reward, and for the in-game score that compares between the two. This means that by design, playing selfishly is still very productive to the team as a whole.
The fact that you can play with both a ranged, and melee class, leads to a balance problem when your autoattack can be ranged. That is circumvented by the map design that has a lot of ropes, sloped platforms, and short mobs, which makes a ranged player's life slightly harder, while still giving them the ability to play range like they are used to. [Also, this is a guess, but i bet they also used the system they had on the balloon pq to give equal range classes to each team for the sake of balance].
And one of the more important factors in the design that makes this pq not feel frustrating, is that losing is not that big a deal, and winning doesn't have too much RNG tied to it:
When you lose, you still get all the eggs you collected, so your efforts were equally rewarded. If you win, you get a flat reward of 20 more points, which is smaller than the reward you get for the effort of collecting the points in the event [people can normally collect between 50~70 per run, give or take]. The reward is not an RNG reward that can end up being complete trash, like in the balloon pq, its predictably rewarding.
And to tie it all together, the shop of the event allows you to choose your reward instead of relying on RNG and getting frustrated for not getting what you wanted.

It's the most "feels good" event you guys designed imo, so I felt like I should give it a shout-out so you guys will keep the things that worked in this event :3

A small feedback for the event tho: For events where there's both a ranged and melee auto attack gameplay, you should give a small buff to the melee classes to let them feel more useful. For example, in this event you can give melee classes a slightly higher movement speed than ranged classes.

TL; DR: im just a game design nerd that got hyped over the improvment in this year's event, don't mind me ^_^'
