Just wanted to know if these items could possibly be added to the list of trade rewards on Maple Island: This would mostly be an alternate to the other gloves we can get (White, Blue, Red, Yellow, Purple work gloves) Spoiler: Green Mittens I know this is Gachapon-exclusive item, but it is inferior to Maplemas Lights in all stats statistically. The main purpose of it would be an additional weapon to use. It's also got a very nice festive style to it. It's also something that's not really sought after, so I don't think it would effect the economy of things in the Free Market. (If people were to take them off the Island) Spoiler: Fruity Bamboo This one might be the most questionable out of of everything, but if I do recall correctly, these were once available to get on Maple Island. I forgot if it was GMS, or if it was on a totally different private server, but they were definitely on the island at one point. As for if these mittens would actually change the "meta" of the Island, I still think they would be inferior to the Maplemas Lights, or the Maple Umbrella. Reason due to the fact that I do happen to have one of these on a different private server, and they are maybe mediocre at best. Maybe if they were paired with Crystal Ilbis/Balanced Furies they would be good, but if they were to be paired with regular snowballs, it should still take about 2 throws to kill an Orange Mushroom Pig, compared to Islander that can 1 shot Orange Mushroom/Pigs as long as they can do above 80 damage. Island needs little spice added. These would be some nice changes that wouldn't ultimately effect the island Meta really. When people exclude items from the island in events it's one of those things where they use the excuse that the items aren't applicable to island that baffles me. Only real game changers on island are items that give extra speed/jump. That's the only time where it would change the Island meta. Because once you 1 hit.... You 1 hit everything so what's the point in being able to do more damage.
The mitten could be interesting, it will be the first ranged weapon on the island (except the snail shell skill lol) but it wouldn't be really powerful because claws got a really short range without maxing the keen eyes skill in 1st job.
Its weird to have the first common class range weapon be available only to the island while normal players will never get one (this item cannot be taken out of the event area). The usecase of this item might sound niche, but these are very useful in boss events for melee classes, cause having range makes it easier to hit the boss, and damage doesn't matter when everyone hit for a static damage like 10 in anni event or valentine.
This could be something that has an expiration / something solely usable during the christmas event. Now in the offland world I have seen several of these being worn in the free market outside of the event map. However I think that was due to some glitch / exploit, but I do know people have them out of the map world. Point being though that despite not being regularly available in the offland world, other than some very specific instances would this be of any benefit. Definitely not a benefit on the island as three snails does 40 damage (Enough to one hit every mob but mushrooms and pigs) and the range would be abysmal to be of any real gain in comparison to three snails. I guess really the point of this whole post is to not change the meta of the island, but spice it up a little. The whole "not applicable to island" is a load that just basically is an excuse for not wanting to put forth the effort to add it to the island. Would rather hear that than an excuse for it. Majority of active islanders don't care about keeping island vanilla anymore. This is a whole different breed from the "old" islanders that don't even play anymore. Now I don't think we need like free market access or regain access to island after leaving, but more options on exchanging would be nice to spice things up. Give it a little razzle dazzle.. And yes I do understand that being an islander is limiting as is on purpose, but allowing islanders to participate in events that use NPC's to teleport to and from wouldn't be that big of a deal, just give us an instanced map separate from the offland one just like they do for the Jump Quest events. Now that I kind of rambled on into another subject of course... LOL
The first year they did the snowman fight with equippable mittens you just got to keep it. Mine got removed after I went into Happyville the next year I suppose some people might still have it if they never go into Happyville.
