Then this medal will send you all over the place to kill practically every monster in the game. After a series of drop rate buffs, this medal is much less painful to acquire so have fun questing! Hello, I'm Inusama and this guide should help you achieve 800 quests and obtain the exclusive Quest Specialist Medal. There are quite a few level-locked and missable quests you might be unaware of! Update #60, the medal was upgraded from +3 all to +5 all. Update #70: Added +150HP/MP to the medal and added the Quest Virtuoso medal which you can get by completing 1,000 quests! You can still get both medals if you miss every hidden/missable quest. After multiple updates and new areas there are plenty of quests to get 800 without even reaching 4th job! Tips: To be able to accept the Quest Specialist Title Challenge from Dalair you must be LVL30+ and have no other medal challenges in progress! To open the medal window press ; The MapleStory database Hidden Street has a guide for virtually every quest in the game, just Google the quest name if you need help! Every separate quest in a questline counts as 1 quest completed Event quests temporarily count towards the total. When the event is over the quests are intended to be deleted from your record and your quest completed total will decrease. Some may stick around in your completed tab forever though! Medal quests do not count towards the total As with everything in this game, having a bishop is an incredible benefit. Mystic door and genesis make a lot of the travelling and farming much easier The card effect for the area boss typically provides a drop chance boost to all monsters in the surrounding area Looking for the best map to grind a specific mob? Visit @Becca Monster Book guide! Arwen's Glass Shoe, Blackbull's Deed to the Land, Flaming Feather and Ancient Scroll drop. But they are very rare Do not drop quest items that have been acquired from quests that only appear after dropping the original. They may not have replacements but you can try forfeiting the quest. Levels 1 - 8/10: - Do all quests on Maple Island as you’re never coming back - Note: you will likely over-level, especially as a mage. Starting all the quests at the same time to avoid killing extra monsters will help. The only downside to overlevelling is a marginal loss of hp/mp. Purchase an Everstone I if you wish to avoid this. - LVL15 A Favor for Bobby. Only appears above LVL15 and you have to still be on Maple Island. (Not recommended. It's pretty much just a quest for islanders with a requirement of 677 drops.) Can't be accepted after LVL29 - LVL18 To the Desert... Can't be accepted after LVL29. To finish this quest, use Manji to travel to Ariant 5 times. You can get back to Victoria Island from Ariant quickly by talking to Karcasa. Requires a White Versal Materia to trigger, you can complete this quest a second time for an additional completion. - LVL10 Robo Upgrade!. Drop/trade/store the white essence when you obtain it, can't be accepted after handing in the black essence (Other) - LVL50 The Long Road. You must have completed the first stage of the Zakum prequests. You can start this quest by paying Adonis 1 million mesos. This quest was created to assist people who are incapable of completing the Zakum jump quest. It is extremely grindy and I would not recommend it unless necessary (approx 11 hour solo grind, over 1,500 drops required). This quest will also be in your 'in progress' tab FOREVER if you start it but you can get 7 quests out of it. - LVL52 Parwen the Ghost. Visit Hidden Street: Authorized Personnel Only to trigger - LVL52 Destroy the Roid. (Not recommended, requires 600 drops (200 skins from dark yeti, only 4 of which spawn in the entire game) - LVL70 Pheromone Perfume: This is the quest after Monster Riding. Drop the Pheremone Perfume after completing this quest. - LVL70 Translated Communique. After completing Lost in Translation 2, drop the Translated Communique before completing Lost in Translation 3. - LVL75 Dr. De Lang's Notes: After completing this quest (which is towards the end of the Magatia questline series), accept the "For Alfadno" quest but do not complete it, then drop Dran's Note, then complete the "Re-acquiring Dr. De Lang's Notes" quest, then forfeit the "For Alcadno" quest. Depending the class you play (mages) the ZJQ alternative - 1500 mateon and 2300 cursed dolls arent that bad. All of Krex pre quest is repeatable. Here is a walktrough for the ZJQ without jumping. (made by me) Spoiler: Alternative ZJQ To start the Alternative ZJQ you need to be lvl 50 and have stage 1 completed as this questline is made to ONLY pass stage 2 the jump quest Go to Adonis at Watch out for Icy Path 1 (1 map right of elnath) Pay adonis 1 million mesos (this opens up a quest at the quest tab calles The long road) Now we need to see Chumji at Korean folk town Spoiler: Elnath to KFT From Adonis in El Nath you walk back to the tower 2 maps left of your current position. At the tower go down to aqua road. Use the dolpin taxi to go to the sharp unknown. Welcome to Korean Folk Town Arriving in KFT Chumji is located top left and tells you he will help if you can bring him the blue light villagers see at night. This refers to the mob called Blin(lvl 60). These are located to the far right of the KFT region in a map called: Top of black mountain. You need to collect 200 Blin's flame they only drop from the morphed blin (Blin's second form). Rough estimate 1 drop per 50 kills Blin's flame is a quest item and therefor untradeable After delivering the blin's flames to Chumji we need to go pay Chun Ji of Victoria Island a visit. Chun Ji is located on Kerning City Construction Site. This is 1 map left of Kerning City. Tells you a story about the ancient times and about dragon fire. Only 2 monsters currently have this, Red Drake in perion and the Behemoth deep down in the sanctuary (Jr.Balrog) After this rattle of dragon monsters Chun Ji sends us to the Rememberer in Sleepywood. The Rememberer tells us that Chun Ji lost a part of his memory and we need to find a "special item" to boost Chun Ji's memory. The item is dropped by "Fire-breathing drakes up in the Rocky Mountains" On to Perion it is than to slay some Red Drakes (lvl60). Spoiler: Red Drakes? Red drakes spawn in a map near perion. Take the bottom right portal out of perion. Stay top side and move left till you see a wooden door. This leads to a hidden map with copper drakes. Go trough the top portal to get to the hiddenmap Dangerous Valley 2. This is were Red Drakes spawn. After killing some Red Drakes a etc. ring will drop called the "Dragonfire Ring" Bring this ring to Chun Ji for him to remember how to grow the "Breath of Lava" To create the Breath of Lava you need a "Hardend Crystal Flask" a "Inert Mysterious Substance" and a Flaming Feather. Porter of Omega sector knows how to make the Hardend Crystal Flask. Carson of the Zenumist Society knows how to make the Inert Mysterious Substance. The Flaming Feather is dropped by Selkie Jr. at Mysterious Path 3 Spoiler: Flaming Feather To obtain a Flaming Feather you need to travel to Singapore (CBD) This is possible by talking to Irene. Located on the right side of Kerning City. Arriving at CBD you need to walk 3 maps to the right untill you hit Fire Extinguisher monsters. In this map you take a top right to enter Quay Boat Town. Again we walk 3 maps to the right to reach Mysterious Path 3. Spoiler: Omega sector From Orbis you take the boat to Ludibrium. Spoiler: 600 Iron Hog's metal hoofs At Henesys just right of the cab is a tree. Climb that to enter a hidden map. These maps hold the most Iron Hogs in the whole server. Spoiler: Magatia From Orbis you take the Ariant genie boat. From Ariant town you take the 3rd portal on the right to find the camel cab. Carson is located on the far left inside a building. To create the Inert Substance he sends you out to get: Spoiler: 200 Fire Bomb flame From Zipangua (shrine) walk all the way right to find Showa town. In showa is a bathhouse (Gachapon location). Inside on the right side of the mirrors is a hidden portal taking you to a map with all firebombs. 100 Mateon tentactes 200 Red essence Spoiler: 30 bottles of drake's blood From ellinia you take the black cab to Ant Tunnel Park. Keep going deeper into the dungeon untill you hit the map Dungeon: Drake Hunting Ground 500,000 mesos After collecting this huge ammount of items for Porter and Carson you need to head back to Chun Ji at Kerning City. He will give you a Poweless Breath of Lava. And the words: Go see Sea Witch Carta in Aqua. Spoiler: Aqua From ellinia you take the boat to orbis, from there the crane to Mu Lung. From Mu Lung you take the crane to Herb Town. The map left of Herb Town is the Dolphin taxi to Aqua. Sea Witch Carta is located in a hidden cave down Aqua road. To get to her you go 1 map left of Aqua town. Use the left bottom "hidden" portal to get to Deep Sea Gorge 1. Halfway down the map on the left side is a black cave entrance. Enter this to find Sea Witch Carta. Sea Witch Carta tells you that she can help power the Poweless Breath of Lava. She only requires a few crystals. 1 Dark Crystal 1 Power Crystal 1 Wisdom Crystal 1 Dex Crystal 1 Luk Crystal 1 million mesos These crystals can be forged by Vogen in Perion. I have no idea i would assume so since it are all seperated standing quests with seperated rewards. For the Alternative ZJQ ( i requested for this to be implanted since GMS had a unknown alternative also ) i ofcourse cant talk badly of since i actually NEED this route due to a form of colorblindness (see https://royals.ms/forum/threads/zakum-jump-quest.100900/ ) But some parts are to hard to kinda do it for the quest specialist without buying all buyable items. (200 Dragonglass shards is a hell)
Yeah that list is only for quests that when repeated, increase your total completed number. I'm pretty sure they don't count the second time. tl;dr First time = +1 quest completed Second time (repeat) = +1 quest completed Third+ time (repeat) = +0 completed Some repeatable quests do this, some don't. I'm interested in listing the ones that do.
Hey, i cant start "Eliminate goblins" from Chumji... -quest has ended due to an unknown error-, i was wondering if there's a solution for this
Yes, I noticed this too! On my dark knight I was able to start the quest but now you can't even start it, no idea why. You can't spawn the goblins either way so it's impossible to complete.

Once you get to a certain level/quests completed, the medal npc will have 'Quest Specialist' available. You can only have 1 medal challenge so if you've accepted one of the others, forfeit it. Edit: LVL30+

No wonder! I was killing nightmares AND vodoos, I must have not killed enough. I have the utmost admiration for anyone with the quest specialist badge. How do you even receive the challenge? The badge man doesn't have it as an option for me.
Awesome guide, this will be super useful! Some of the kill quests (kill 999 in particular) are level locked. Can't do them past a certain level.
