The latest update gave other classes more HP on 3rd and 4th job advancements, as well as a series of quests to increase their maxHP, but excluded mages. The reasoning is likely that mages do not need to HP wash to survive bosses, and that is true for the most part. However, some bosses do exist for which a bishop may need to HP wash to survive simply being around, such as the toad boss. Furthermore, should the Pink Bean be introduced some day in MapleRoyals' future, only heavily HP washed bishops would likely be able to attend without relying on hyper body, due to its massive damage (requiring close to 4000 HP on a mage even after Magic Guard, to the best of my knowledge). It's also sad that those of us who like to do every quest do not have access to them. I understand why mages were not included, but my suggestion: Give mages a much lesser version of those benefits. Perhaps 50-100 more hp for job advances, and 100-200 more hp from the Water from the Spring of Youth questline, or perhaps just the quests and nothing extra on job advances. This may push A Bishop around level 180 or 190 over the 3k mark, which would be enough to survive every existing boss openly, and leave a realistic window for Pink Bean with HP scrolled items. Considering how situational the HP buffs would be, only very few would put forth the effort to do them, and I doubt they would cause any harm to the game by existing.
Lol as a player that mostly plays mage, im highly against it. Just consider the fact that you get x5 times hp for every hp you have. Even a quest that gives mages 200 hp will give them extra 1k effective hp. Higher lvl mages have the ability to start efficiently mp wash. Sure it will cost you a lot (about 8b to get to 8k hp) but thats the cost of entering these harder bosses, a price any other attacker had to pay. So why us mages can just get a giant discount
On a different server they accounted for MG by giving mages about 4-5x less HP from the bonus. Washing to 5k-ish will still take additional effort, but the burden will be relieved a little through the hp bonus. Hp bonuses on that server (prebb no washing) was Mages 1k Ranged 4.5k Melee 9k
Honestly, if you gave the HP quest to mages as is (+100 per quest for a total of +500) would be far too broken as, with Magic Guard would equate to a 2.5k damage buffer increase (which is far more than the buff that Warriors got, which was +1000). Nerfing this to say even half (+50 per quest for a total of +250) would still equate to a +1250 increase which is more than warriors which is still too much. Now, if you nerf this any more than +50 (and this is already a pretty small gain), then simply put, it's cheaper to HP wash than to do the quest, regardless what level you are (as long as you aren't level 200). TLDR there's no way to give mages this quest without it being either broken (too strong) or not being worth it at all.
Technically you could wash at level 200 too, since mages have some pretty huge excess MP with all that base int. You just couldn't mp wash
True, my bad, I meant you can't wash as efficiently lol (since Mages also get the Fresh AP bonus into HP)
a big reason that additional hp was needed for non mage classes is that once you hit 120, if you werent set up to wash already, you were SoL. On my bishop, I decided to start washing at level 125 and could hit 14k hp/30k mp at lvl 200 if i wanted. since mages can wash later in their leveling life, i dont see a real reason to give them an hp quest as well.
