I just want to make a quick shoutout for implementing Monster Cards. First, to get a few things out of the way: I am definitely guilty of wanting to keep the nostalgic idea of Maple (plesse no more jobs) and Monster Cards didnt exist while I played. Id like if the reward was better considering some have estimated it will take upwards of 400+ hours to get the final medal considering drop rate, and the HP gained is equivalent to Ergoths Bane which you could do in 3 hours. That being said I love the Monster Cards. They add so much to the game that was meant to be a questing collectathon in my eyes. It makes me go back to the places in Maple that I always loved going to but had no reason to, eslecially since Ive explored them already. How many of you remember theres things like Dark Drakes? Green Trixters? The entire area that is Omega Sector? Places in the game that at one point were new, exciting, and relevant places to go, but have lost their appeal over time. Sure I'm no longer a level 40 sin dropping from 100 to 1 on Helios Tower, or needing dark sight to explore the depths of the dungeon, but now I have reason to and its SO exciting. Just saying thank you to the Devs and GMs and such for giving me a reason to play that isnt J>krex/apq/cwk/ht then signing off. Cheers. EDIT: 2 things 1) I forgot about the helpful information with spawns and item drops. 2) For those who haven't seen, Pink Bean is the last card for the bosses currently. Thats called foreshadowing.

I dislike the monster cards. Wish there was a way to remove any cards I’ve already picked up, or prevent picking up any in the first place. Also, I don’t want to start something I have no interest in completing. Leaving something unfinished bothers me, and I don’t want to be forced into doing it either. I just want to solo play peacefully with no aids like PQs or monster cards. Also heard there was a way to filter these cards with a pet, but that doesn’t change the fact that the damage has already been done, and it’s a roundable way to do this. I’ve never had a pet, and never plan on getting one on that character because it’s pure f2p only. Would have been better if it was an untradable item that physically appears in your inventory, which you can then drop it later. Players who like it can double-click to add it to their books. This server used to be true to v62, but now it’s keep getting closer and closer to Big Bang patch.
I don't necessarily disagree, considering I had always been bothered by monster cards dropping in other private servers, both for the the effects they display when picked up, and for being forced to keep a chaotic half-started monster book. That said, Monster Book was released in v0.67, which is arguably much closer to v0.62 than to v0.83. I think it's clear then that it is far from Big Bang content. The droprate of cards is also low enough for it not to feel spammy or cluttering on the ground in my opinion. I'm not sure if monster card drops can be "hidden" in the same way that certain quest items are hidden from players that have not started the quest. That said, I think the Monster Book offers a long-term goal for completionists, and does more good than harm.
That makes me sad though. It’s really no different from the artifact event where points are accumulated whether you like it or not, but at least is wiped out after collecting 20 or so if you don’t have a permit. I hope GMs take my suggestion into consider because I’ve made a thread around the time of release expressing my dislike. After that, I’ve been ignored. If it’s possible to code in a way to offer players an option not to participate, I would appreciate it. Also, completionist and perfectionist have too different mindsets. Completionist may have the desire to try and complete something even if their goal is out of their reach. Although perfectionists are similar in a way, some have an all-or-nothing mentality - and I’m the latter.
I doubt that it's worth their time to add that opt out feature just for you, I haven't heard many say that having an unfinished MB is such a big problem for them. Just take off the book from the keyboard, and never look at it.
