Bigfoot have broken iframe and annoying to fight . Although we're not sure if this is an actual bug or intended by Nexon (which is absurb intend). However, if the iframe is fix, Bigfoot will easily kill by range attacker with current 2k knockback.

To keep the design purpose of Bigfoot as a high level, deadly one hit boss. Few adjustment can be made:

    1. Increase jump attack to 8k
This is still a deadly damage for range attacker without washing. But survivable for any 4th job meelee. However, the jump attack can be dodge by jump as well.

    2. Adjust animation delay
Once iframe is fixed and jump damage added. Attack animation may need adjust. Instead of having low damage player that couldn't knocking back BF, but avoiding damage by jump attack. Causing BF stuck on same place jump attack on nothing. BF shall rush to player again, whenever after they did jump attack and near player distance.

    3. Increase knockback damage to 20k
Considering the HP and EXP ratio, BF shall designed as level 150 boss. This set the possible damage requirement for level 150+ normal fund range attacker only. But still possible for level 140+ meelee attacker (or lower if you are funded or having paladin in party).

For low level range attacker who wish to kill BF safely. They can party with any meelee attacker who able to tank/pin/knockback Bigfoot. This will encourage people party and improve usage of Hyper Body.

Hope this idea will get rid the stupid broken iframe that doesn't make sense, and help improving the fight on BF.

Okay but if you want to give feedback at least back it up with reasons right. ~f10

I frames is simply a part of the difficulty of certain bosses and mobs. BF with no iframes would just be a walk in the park for most classes, and the risks of fighting him with less than 12k hp will be gone.
I agree that its an annoying mechanic, i hate it as well, but they can't just remove it without giving bf a different mechanic or it would be too easy of a fight, and by that point it might be too "custom" of a content change.

    Remove the iframe

And then set knockback damage to 200k

My bad, was thinking it can simply fix and didn't consider other issue. Added improvement in first post.

This is definitely intended design by NXProse and the original developers as far as I know. I remember a developer Q&A where this specific question was asked. You will find that many of the CWK mobs have similar "broken frames" and delayed knock-backs.

Even it's intended, but I believe it's totally possible to adjust. Added poll and leave this up to community to decide.

Lol yea. Wolfspiders are probably the worst iframe offenders in the game, there's barely any indication to tell if they are in iframe, and because they are normal mobs they are designed to be AOEed as well, which makes fighting them feel awefully inconsistent.
NLC and CWK are riddled with weird design choices that make me scratch my head. At least BF's iframes feel consistent, and are learnable, but iframe is just a feels-bad mechanic.

Of course, I just wanted to give some insight! :) On the topic itself, I think that the i-frame is totally a hallmark of this boss; something we all associate with it, and part of what makes it special!

If based on this logic, is every bug on this game are consider hallmark, a special part for you too?
It's fine even the idea was rejected, but giving weird reason is not persuasive at all.

Hi, my apologies. I was giving my input as a player of the game, not an official statement. And besides, I am sure I could have given a more comprehensive reply. To answer your question: Bigfoot's i-frames are not a bug, so I cannot see the connection there. But are quirks of the game, even if inconvenient to the player, special to me? Oftentimes, yes, and my approach is to try to honor the game's original design, unless there is a strong reason not to. But I try not to let it cloud my judgement, and I of course listen to popular feedback!

In this case, as a player, and fan of NXProse's designs, I don't think there is a convincing reason (presented thus far, anyway) to change it. And the point I was trying to make is that I find the i-frame charming, and that it adds to the mob's character. Dare I say it's part of the mob's identity! :) I hope that clears it up.

i like the idea but mulestory is to strong now it will make this boss just another dead hitbox for powerlvling (i know is allready in a way but this will make it even worse)
20k KB damage is not that hard this days especially on onyx/echo, people will just bring HB mule and hold attack mindlessly

there is many guides allready on how to pin for ranged without even wash (i think corsair is hardest of them)

For me doing bigfoot I can just spam TT to pin without any danger(including the danger of touching because NL should not have 12k HP) like other bosses, nothing special except 1/2 of the attacks miss due to iframes.
I think calling a boss with iframes a part of challenging is quite stupid, bosses with iframes don't really increase difficulty at all regardless the player washed or not, and only makes me frustrating when seeing my attacks keep hitting air.

I'm ok with developers not going to remove them because @Joong said it's intended, but stop saying that is because of balancing, let's see our showa boss squad, how many people really think it worth to run and how many reject doing that because of the iframes of bodyguard B? We could save half time doing BGB if iframes removed which makes this boss much more worth running for pure exp(like castellan toad).
And now it's even worthless after ellin forest update, why I form/fight such a time consuming boss for that small chance getting shogun earrings which doesn't worth much?

TL; DR: bosses with iframes are not challenging at all.

For real though, I see absolutely no reason to keep the boss purposefully broken like this.

And I do call it "broken" because it's the only boss in the entire game who has an odd tendency to walk right through players or damage them at the flip of a coin and has the same scenario for trying to hit the guy. Yeah sure, you can argue that it adds to the "challenge" of the boss, but it's not a challenge against well-defined game mechanics or a battle of managing to survive an extremely powerful foe, it's a challenge against a sudden influx of "what the fuck is this thing even doing what the hell is going why can't I hit it why did it just walk through me without damaging me wait now it killed me huh??????". I'm not fighting a high-level monster and making use of knowledge and strength I've accumulated throughout my journey in the game so far, I'm suddenly playing an entirely different gimmick game where the rules were never clear nor explained to me and the penalty is instant death (assuming you have under 12k HP, which is likely for your first time exploring Phantom Forest).

I believe these rules to be unexplained because there weren't any rules implemented to begin with, only a broken boss.

    -----
Beyond considering that this monster is randomly the only monster in the entire game which acts like this, the iframes it carries are not telegraphed by it at all. There's two other enemies in the game (that I can think of) which have iframes of sorts, but they differentiate themselves from Bigfoot by actually having their unique ability represented in their animation: namely the monsters that lurk in the dark in Ludi Party Quest (who show up as just eyes on a background of darkness, and when they close their eyes they're temporarily gone, as it were), and the fading Bellflower Roots in Pirate Party Quest (who, very obviously, can only be hit when they're visible).

Bigfoot on the other hand runs on an iframe roll which is shown by absolutely nothing. He just walks around and can some frames be hit (and deal damage) and other frames he can't. He isn't faded in and out of existence like the Bellflowers, he doesn't temporarily blend into his environment like the Shades, he doesn't put up some sort of magic barrier indicating that he's invulnerable for the time being (something I believe Sr. Balrog does), he doesn't flash like players do when they're damaged, he just walks.

All these not-indicated iframes continue through all it's moves and animations, its knockback animation, its jumping attack animation, all while playing a continuous, 12k damage russian roulette with the unfortunate player trying to figure out just what on earth is going on with this monster. What you end up with is a boss that either: has a completely messed up hitbox, or was designed by people with the design philosophy of "I Wanna Be The Guy".

In my opinion, neither is a good thing to have in game that doesn't pride itself on 'trolling' the player.

    -----
What further cements Bigfoot as a "broken" monster to me is that - beyond the absurdity of it having iframes at all - it's not even the only thing about Bigfoot that strikes me as "not intended", namely whenever Bigfoot uses its 1 damage jump attack, there's this dust cloud which shows up in mid-air a few feet away from him, not necessarily even targeting the player it's engaging in combat with:
It's a much smaller detail in terms of brokenness than the iframe roll is, but it's also a much clearer example of the boss being broken at all. If this dust cloud is meant to be an animation showing the player getting hit by Bigfoot's special attack (something nearly every other special move in the game has), it has: misalignment, showing up behind the player and in the air instead of at the player's feet; mistiming, since it appears and deal damage even before Bigfoot has lept into the air and not when he lands (which would very obviously cause a quake); and an absurd damage calculation. Bigfoot running into you deals 12k damage, Bigfoot causing an earthquake causes 1?

All this indicates to me that something isn't quite right with Bigfoot at all.

    ----
And lastly, in regards to the iframe roll being a feature and not a bug: it makes contextually absolutely no sense for Bigfoot to have this specific ability.

What is Bigfoot? A big, lumbering, Yeti-adjacent monster with a fresh hairdo chasing a lollipop on a string.
This monster, by all things we can tell from directly looking at it, is not intelligent. Definitely not intelligent enough to be a mage who has mastered a powerful temporary invincibility spell, and definitely not agile and sleek enough to have mastered Dark Sight like a Rogue would have. It just runs around like a donkey trying to get a lollipop is sees in front of itself, unknowingly ramming into adventurers who happen to be in its path.

Something like the 12k damage it deals does contextually make sense in this case: Bigfoot is huge and surprisingly fast for its size and posture, getting trampled by it would probably hurt very badly.

What doesn't contextually make sense is how Bigfoot is a unique monster in the game with the uncanny ability to... turn incorporeal for a third of a second at the time? To sidestep the player despite being on a 2d plane? To be able to do this despite not showing anything that indicates it even is doing this? To be able to do this and have no dialogue or quest descriptions even mention this bizarre ability?

The only thing I could think of that contextually allows for Bigfoot to pull his iframe stunt is that the Leprechaun riding him is somehow continuously casting spells on Bigfoot in an attempt to mess with the player (they would do such a thing considering they disguise themselves as meso bags just to be a source of disappointment, since they don't even bother attacking afterwards), but like Bigfoot himself there is no animation or any sort indicating that this is the case at all. Even if it were the case, we'd still probably see Bigfoot be affected by some sort of spell or have his state altered in its duration. But none of this happens.

    -----

I put all these different dimensions of Bigfoot's design (gameplay mechanics and visual information, additionally broken elements, and context clues) together and I can only conclude one thing: this boss is broken.

    pls fix

Small note, there are other mobs with iframes as well. From the top of my head:
Pap has iframe on one of his attacks for no real reason (the healing attack i think? ).
Bodyguard B is in iframes for like half of the fight lol
And wolf spiders have a completely untelegraphed i frame.

A lot of the Neo Tokyo monsters/bosses also have iframes! But as for bigfoot, I feel like the design should stay as the original developer intended them. It really is part of the boss its identity, and for me it is also something nostalgic.

The most fucked up thing about bigfoot isn't his bizarre idiosyncrasies that make him an ever present danger to most players. Its not his iframes or random lunging out and rubber banding through characters at a speed you can barely react to, or his collection of creepy old toys he drops, it's not even that he's a bigfoot.

    Its his bowlcut.
We shouldn't be hunting bigfoot, we should be hunting whoever gave him that haircut.

Anyway I like all his erratic stuff he does, it makes the fight engaging. If he didn't have goofy iframes or rubber banding, he'd be hunted down much worse than he already is.
If there was a way to have both erratic movements but lessen the iframes it would be fun. But if he had no iframes and wasn't poorly coded, it would be no different than fighting an orange mushroom on maple island, or krex. Very low challenge and almost no gate besides finding one, and massive reward

Him being erratic and glitchy should stay, and if that's due to his iframes, I'm for keeping them

If the bigfoot's iframe is to be removed, also remove the knockback factor so it can chase you around forever to maintain the difficulty. That sounds fun.
