QoL Reclassifying items for inventory

When @LichWiz says make a thread, just do it.

This suggestion would help with some inventory space management and offloading. Some items have to live in your ETC tab forever, as they are required items to enter some maps, or are very important key items nonetheless, much more valuable than being considered "etcetera". For example, the Marker of Heroism for some reason goes to the Set-Up tab, but it makes perfect sense because it's very valuable and has a key item effect on your character, can't be sold, and you don't need to interact with it.

Some normal ETC items such as krex hammer, eyes of fire (would also make them easier to find lol), black/white essence, or any other non-npc-able etc item would be great candidates to be moved to the set-up tab instead, as they're so important, and would make them easier to find, and not take up etc space

NX cards dropped by bosses, would save space by going to the CS tab, especially since there will be more than the current three, per @smilinsphere 's suggestion.

If you're like me and only have a few chairs and nx you use, and a constantly full use/equip/etc menu, this could help.

What are some other items you'd switch, and why?
Mount saddles to set-up?
Nependeath honey to set-up (it's super fun to accidentally double click them lol)
NX equips to the NX tab (instead of equip)?
Or perhaps a new tab for key items, quest items, boss etc, saddles?

in general, i think that the change should be applied as follows:

• items that camp on the etc tab for the sake of unlocking content/features should be on Setup (ex: krexel hammer, palace entry, etc etc) And as an exception, also magic seed and nautilus warp ticket (cause they are untradeable) .
• "consumable" etcs that need to be dropped to start something should remain on etc tab (ex. EoF, cracked piece of time, quest and pq items, etc etc), to avoid causing confusions.
• Nx cards, and Nx equipments should move to the cash tab if possible
• teleport scrolls should remain on use tab
• event items should be selectively chosen for either etc or setup depending on how they are used. (ex: currency for event should stay on etc, but given a high item cap, while event temporary items like the egg event, or maple hill ticket should go to setup)

 

hmmm.......
i've just thought of an issue that may happen once this change is implemented.
lets say i have a full inventory on set-up, and the changes came into effect, will items that were in etc tab that were changed into setup be deleted cause they had nowhere to go?
the devs will need to consider if there's a way around this forseeable bug.

 

like for example, if i've been hoarding 96 flag chairs, not saying i did, but IF...

It could be the case that the current item placements aren't changed but will be put into effect moving forward. So for example: Your EOF stays in the etc tab, but any future EOF (as well as the current EOF you drop and reloot) goes to the set-up tab. But please take this with a grain of salt as I know absolutely nothing about game development.

 

IIRC when new source hit we lost 4 slots per inventory and overflow items were placed into Fredrick to be retrieved whenever. Maybe something like that could happen again.

 

Completed Omok board sets, match card sets would be nice in set-up. NX/RP cosmetics into the Cash tab instead of Equip tab would be a huge offload but I can see people being mixed on this. Would allow you to carry much more nx/rp and equips at the same time. Only people it may marginally affect are mass APR sellers or mass gacha tix purchases.

Rethinking item tabs, the only new tab that would be really nice is a scroll tab.

And this is very loose but SBs having the skill icons in your inventory instead of the colored book icon would be nice, but that's nitpicky. Would just be nice to recognize them immediately than hover over them all, but I'm sure there's some sort of current reason for the book?

Same with scrolls. I know it would be a lot of work, but outlines of the equip (glove, hat, cape, polearm, etc), and effect (ATT/DEF/SP/JMP/DEX/STR/etc) on the scroll to visually recognize them too, instead of by the default automatic organization would be nice

 

This was something I saw back a year ago, but it was addressed here.

 

Ah yeah I remember that thread. IMHO, not that significant of an immersion to maintain, we all know those items are skill books, but it is what it is

Maybe if the tab is full, the new items that would have been in the full tab can wait for you at Duey's inventory, just like the Pepe Chair from the last christmas event
