I believe that this quest requires some rework, in one of either two ways. Update the quest description to convey the difficulty of obtaining the papers from boxes in Aqua Road OR Increase the drop rate of the papers. The reason why I am suggesting this change is because people are very frequently asking me and on the forums if this quest is bugged, because the boxes drop papers so inconsistently. They can drop nothing for 10 minutes +, or randomly drop 2 at once (?), or keep dropping the same paper. Dropping nothing is certainly unlucky but a common experience, and I believe this is bad design since it leads many people doing the quest to believe that they are either doing something wrong, or the quest is bugged. If one of the two suggestions were implemented, I believe that we would see a sharp decline of people asking their friends or making posts on forums asking if Kenta's Advice even works. Disclaimer, I have done this quest 6 times, not that I think it matters, but I believe I have a decent sample size for evidence.
I would like it if instead it would drop the pieces you still need instead of just random pieces. Although that's a bit off topic of making it less confusing to new players doing it for the first time.
Would suggest to increase droprate, and increase number of papers needed equivalently. For example, if drop rate is 1% and we need 1 paper, increase to 10% and need 10 papers. Difficulty is the sane to complete the quest. Why? We are a private server with little to no confirmed information. Forums are not a reliable source as they are written by just players ourselves. We will wait for the library for that. Doing so, players can confirm that the item does drop and there is no bug, rather than spending 10h and then making a bug report. More often than not, the player may have forgotten to start a quest or complete something else first.
Voted no since this is simply another grind-for-items quest. If we are changing this quest, then the same logic could be apply to other quests, including but not limited to Arwen’s shoes, deed, Indecipherable book. For this quest specifically, I recommend go the the 3~4 right-sided maps from aqua. The map has 4~6 boxes where one can hit and change channel to grind items fast
Yes please, I think drop rate should be increased, maybe even by a lot. This quest is more mainstream than other grind-for-items quests and it is a necessity for farmers. I don't think that having a quest that can drop one paper per 70 boxes with a high chance for duplicates is good design at all.
well, I still think it should be considered to update the quest wording to indicate it's difficulty even if you believe it should not be changed
Its like card hunting if u lucky u done it fast if not, who knows. The only thing annoying me is paper b and d (i believe) is almost exactly the same ( i mistake them and loot it when i do the quest for multi char)
I agree with @bibz Even if the drop rate is not increased, at the very least, a warning box should be implemented to inform players about the super low drop rate albeit I still think that the drop rate should be increased.
that mission is depending on your rng I finished it in an hour with a lot of patience so my vote is no
Hmm well my poll isn’t a should it be changed, yes or no? It’s a yes, no change, or no but quest text should be reflected to show the difficulty lol.. which really isn’t hard
2/4/3/2/0 seems to be normal cuz i used to have to collect 14 A just to get the last piece on 1 of my char. Its pretty frustrated tbh but im fine with it. However I would love it if these items be changed to tradable. If they re tradble ones can buy if u dont want to get it ur own, noobs can have some money
I rarely get annoyed at games but I have to say that this was the only quest that I have ever gotten mad at. I still have vivid memories of it and I only did it once, two years ago. I agree that something has to be done about it. A difficulty warning would be good, maybe even just a mention that the papers are rare.
https://i.filehostingsite/cNHp8sJ/not-bug.jpg it is similar to what you say but as kenny told me that this object has a low rate if it is very frustrating pd: sorry english google translate
I want to add another suggestion to solve the frustration with this quest: instead of it having 5 different pieces, just have a single type of piece (call it kenta's piece of paper or idk). This will take one RNG aspect out of the picture entirely, and require just the luck of getting a piece of paper to drop. I say it's far less frustrating to open the Xth box in a row and get nothing, than opening a box and getting a paper that you already have, for the 10th time in a row...
unfortunately it depends on your rng since the drop is 2x (low rate) I understand that it is frustrating to look for the 5 papers and no need to change cc since you will still have the same rng
