3. Any accusations that devolve into petty bickering will be ignored. Provide evidence!
4. First-time offenders may appeal for removal from the blacklist in good faith.
5. Uncropped screenshots are required in order to add first-time offenders onto the blacklist!

Refer to this guide by @Becca for more detailed information. In essence, you will need evidence of at least one of the three requirements provided by @Tim in that thread to prove that a scam has occurred:

1. Evidence of the mutual agreement that was made
2. Evidence that the agreement wasn't met
3. Evidence that the other party doesn't intend on rectifying the issue​

TO THINK OF BEFORE YOU MAKE A REPORT

As of 8/9/2024, the following section will be here as well.

1. People make mistakes, shit happens. If someone made a fucky wucky, did they do that screw with you or your party personally? If the answer is no, don't report it. Someone making a mistake is not something you need to report.
   
   
2. Is the person you want to report going to be, or potentially going to be a nuisance to other players? If the answer is no, don't report it. We don't need to hear about your personal beef with someone else. Exceptions can be made if the player you have a beef with is being really toxic.
   
   
3. Have you tried solving the issue peacefully first? This blacklist is public and can be seen by all players on the server. It should be used as a last resort.

Is someone trying to do a shop scam?

After a poll with very split results, the decision has been made to no longer include shop scams on the blacklist since it's difficult to prove someone tried to scam other players and because most shop scammers use throwaway accounts anyway. Always make sure you are aware of what you're buying. Trying to do a shop scam is still scummy as hell, but it's just not worth putting them on the list for the most part.

Hello friends! Welcome to the New New New nEw Community Blacklist! @Evan and @Becca have decided to refresh the blacklist yet again as it has been a while now since the last refresh, and the blacklist has become absolutely cluttered with character names of players who have long quit, have long been banned, or have simply been useless mules. The old blacklist will be linked to this main thread for a little while so people can reference it if they wish to. I will be updating this list with any reports in that thread that have been submitted in the past week (since the start of the anniversary event).

To repeat my last post in the previous blacklist thread for new readers, I have made some updates and changes to the blacklist. Few things to note in particular:

1. I have clarified the rule regarding providing sufficient evidence for a first-time offender.

Please remember that this rule always has been and always will be enforced. But I want to make clear for everyone what exactly would be considered sufficient evidence. For example, with scamming, @Tim has clarified three requirements to successfully report a player for scamming in order to get them banned for objectionable behavior:

To successfully report a player onto the blacklist, I am simply asking for any one of these three requirements. The best type of screenshot players typically provide contains a disconnected character (belonging to the leech provider) in the middle of their leech session. Other players have also provided screenshots containing a trade window with a verbal agreement to exchange mesos for leech services. And I understand that this type of foresight can be a heavy burden--especially for new players. So this is where the third requirement option comes in. Screenshots containing messages to your leech provider regarding their failure with no adequate response would be acceptable evidence. Even screenshots containing messages to your leech provider multiple times over an extended time period but they have yet to ever log on may be considered sufficient evidence in some cases.

At the end of the day, there needs to be some sort of reliability and accountability that the blacklist contains the names of people who actually deserve to be on there. To be perfectly honest, people don't really take the blacklist that seriously as is, and for it to devolve into a compilation of "he said she said" will certainly not help. And with that, I have also removed the rule that "first-time offenders may appeal for removal from the blacklist if their accuser did not provide sufficient evidence." It's a redundant rule, because if there is insufficient evidence then a player shouldn't be on the blacklist in the first place.​

2. I have personally never enforced this, but I have officially removed the reminder that any behavior that breaks the TOS should be submitted in Abuse Reports rather than here.

If you're an old bitch like me, you may remember the days when the Report Abuse section was public. This was mainly to provide transparency as well as general understanding for players over how the process of reporting another player functioned. But it also led to a lot of petty drama throughout the community and as such, many of us advocated for the section to become private so that players may report rule-breaking behavior without fear of judgment or retaliation. Unfortunately, one additional consequence was that a lot of toxic behavior simply went unnoticed (ex. you act like a bitch, you eat a temp ban, and no one realizes what happened). And I always found it somewhat ironic that a player can be branded through the blacklist for marginally scummy behavior but can essentially face no public backlash for truly being an asshole. This isn't to say that you shouldn't submit harassment or scamming reports--you certainly should. But I also want to open up this blacklist as an additional opportunity to negatively reinforce poor behavior.​

3. Moving onto a new issue, I wanted to gather people's thoughts on whether poor performance at party quests (specifically APQ and CWKPQ) should be added onto the blacklist.

It's kind of like how you can't report someone on League of Legends for being bad at the game. But honestly speaking, MapleStory isn't exactly a game with high skill expression. And as someone who has never participated in these PQs, I don't exactly know how they function and therefore can't appropriately judge the type of behaviors that should be considered objectionable (ex. what does "stealing" an apple in APQ even mean?). But I have seen a lot of reports over the past few months on this thread regarding people leaving, disconnecting, or otherwise performing poorly on these two PQs. So please let me know what you think, and as per great tradition, I will later be releasing a poll!

I will be adding people for AFKing in BPQ though. I think that's fairly clear.​

this one's iffy for me, even in the title he said he didn't know the price. He could've saw other shops selling stacks for 1m and accidentally thought they were 1m each instead of per stack? I mean if he did it purposefully it'd be scummy but idk since he only had one stack, not a bunch of stacks for 1m then throwing in a 1 for 1m slot..

 

I do agree that it might be a mistake, but that has lower odds since he/she does have some item drops specifically from some leeching maps. Even if a new player to the game, I think if he/she farmed the tooth...I highly doubt that he/she would only farm a stack of tooth to sell on his/her own store. I guess I might have been unlucky...

 

This is not a bundle scam... This is someone who has 1 stack of tooths in his shop for 1mil each. It's his store so if he wants to tr y and sell tooths for 1m each then it is his right. And in this case it was even sold so he made some nice money without any from of deception

 

How come he and his brother play on the same pc and on the same ip, with similar account details but not suspected of account sharing? I've been reading appeals where 2 people playing on same pc, logged in at same time getting perma banned.

 

Petition to escalate the scammer 3day ban into a perma ban, dont really need a toxic player here

REASON: being a dick
DETAILS: Joined with my bishop on a random ht party with "x3tiger" leading it. I wasnt leading the expedition so I kept on asking them how they want to do stuff cause every party HT on a diff way.
While I had to take care of other stuff like healing the sed(no mule) he started complaining about me not doing my job when all they had to do is kill 2 cornians while we were crossing(immediate sed) and also being rude:

Later on when we were done, i was second in nx order after sed. he looted my nx and said there was only 1
(eventhough the sed looted already, which means there were 2 nx) and said he has a SS that was from the other side of the map where you cant see clearly.(sent it to me later on)
when i sent him the SS and was trying to bring sense into him for like 10 minutes he paid me 25m
adding my ss:

When he had to pay me the splits, he took off like 2m and when i asked why he said: "i didnt even include smega money, pathetic"
of course idgaf about the 2m its just a matter of principles.

I really love hting with everyone, and i will join every smega cause i believe in people

Also I tried asking him to pay me back several times and he still ignores me

When I recruited for MB2 leech as a 3rd character, he sent me a PM.
I paid him 140m for 2 hours as a 1st character. (There are no SS left for transactions that actually paid 140m.)
After that he fled and I sent him a few PMs but no response.
After that, when I recruited Leech again using 2nd character for trial, PM was sent from him again.
I think it's malicious.
