J>Ironman 2.0 IGN: IronYunyun Job: to be IL mage LVL: 1 This game became too easy and boring, and i stopped doing the stuff i like to do as well (grinding, questing, exploring, farming my own gear). i realized that Ironman challenge is as close to the gameplay i had back in gms as i could get on this server, while also adding a bit more challenge, so im all for it! Cya all ingame!
J> Guild pl0x I'm thinking I'll go Hero. I'm not sure if I'll add some base int for washing, thinking maybe i'll do a bit like 30 or 40 base int still undecided. We're allowed to use gach items we get ourselves right? Wondering if I should save up some NX so I can get some int equips.
Yesterday I decided to take a day off to solo Zakum. I was hoping it would be less tedious than my previous attempt, what with the new elemental weaknesses of the Arms and Bodies and all. It did cut my timer from 4h:20min to 3h:40 min, which according to my rocket-science math is a reduction by 15%! In essence, nothing revolutionary; still felt satisfyingly difficult The arm-phase made up the bulk of my time taken, taking something like 2+ hours. First body was definitely the worst out of the three, because of the constant fear of being permastunned into oblivion by Boogies! Second and third bodies were a relative breeze as I could freeze and tank the summons to avoid ever being stunned or hit by Zakum's attacks. When the third body crumbled my client froze for a solid 10 seconds, and I thought all was lost, BUT it was just an evil prank, and in the end I did get to enjoy the fruits of my labour. I found: 4 trash-tier helmet ACB10 (which was the motivation behind my run in the first place, very lucky!) Genesis 20 Time Leap 20 Smokescreen 20 Hopefully the last 3 will serve my guildmates well in the future after they have participated in some guild runs.
I have a lot of respect for you guys. As a new player finally getting into the gritty of the game, the more I play the harder this challenge seems. This ironman mode reminds me of Hardcore mode from Diablo. Essentially, if you die once, the character is gone forever. It's satisfying and frustrating as hell. I wonder, would the MR community be open to something like that? Or is a no-death character a dream in a game where the end-game just 1-shots you. @Joong, you're the first Pally I see using BW's. Do you feel like the damage from stabbing/smashing is significant enough to bother a player? Or would you recommend BW simply for the cost effectiveness and the possibility of scrolling super god-like for cheap. Another thing that just occurred to me - if you're ironman you don't buy scrolls, so why go with the cheaper option?
I simply opted to use Blunt Weapons because I like the aesthetic. Playing as an ironman already puts a limit on how powerful you can expect to become, so I reasoned it would be fine to sacrifice further damage in order to look cool. There are two other high-levelled Paladins in the guild, both of whom use BWs, but I can't speak on their behalf as to why they chose to do so! I also don't use the Crushed Skull, even if it is the superior BW to use at high levels. I chose to go with hammers in order to use BIG hammers! :3
I completely get that. Looking cool is like 90% of the game for me. The Belzet is one of the greatest weapons this game has. On the other note though, a lot of the swords look fantastic too. Like Doombringer.
Ok, so its been 3 weeks since I started the Ironman challenge. When I first joined the challenge on a whim, I thought i'd go on and off between my main and Ironman, and just mess around. But it didn't take me long to realize that I actually found exactly what I was missing from this game for so long, and ended up completely devoting myself for ironman. So, because I'm a bit lazy rn, and don't feel like grinding ulu 1, I think ill just write a short progress post on what I've done in the past 3 weeks. First challenge, clearing as many quests as i can on the island before hitting lvl 8 LETS GO: Spoiler: Challenge >[START] Sadly I didn't take any screenshots before hitting second job, but it was a very short period anyways, just quested and had a good time Spoiler: 2nd job advancement, I'm officially an IL mage now :o From here on out, i kept questing, and accidentally bumped into the hardest quest in the entire game.... Kenta's fucking advice... Spoiler: 2 straight hours of breaking boxes, no paper C... After giving up on getting paper C, I went back to victoria island and tried to get my hands on good gear, but no luck. Then, suddenly RNGesus smiled upon me, and gave me an Ele wand 3 on my second gatcha run! Spoiler: Holy shit an ele wand! wait, how much magic attack? fuck With my future secured, i went to GS2 and grinded away. After I lost my god damn mind in that map, i went for another round of questing, and while going through aqua road I had reignited my motivation to break boxes: Spoiler: OMG YES FINALLY IM FREE FROM THE CURSE Alright, back to GS2, man if golden richie wasn't a thing, i would've collapsed by now. But i did it! LVL 70 baby! Spoiler: [Ques in rocky's theme music] I started feeling seasick from the ghostship, so i decided to play a bit in mulung. I payed my respect to the local god, and he granted me 15 tma earrings Spoiler: Thank you Sage cat god! I'll give you fish offering next time I'll visit! And now we are here, Lvl 92 so far, I became a Ulu 1 hoe, probably until i hit 4th job >.>... Anyways, I want to thank all of the Ironmen that made this journey so enjoyable through the guild chat! Couldn't have done this without you Cya all in my next post when i hopefully hit 4th job!
I'mma throw my lot in with y'all. Ironman sounds fun, considering I've yet to actually play this specific class lmao IGN: IronMaid
