Update #3 [Made it to level 40!] Just wanted to mention that I am following the rule where you cannot buy equips from NPCs. Also, is Kerning City Gachapon the best option for Bandits? Or should I try somewhere else?
Both kerning, and showa, are good choices for a bandit. I'd say that early on kerning is better but on 4th you'd want to roll in showa for the shadower shield
Hey guys, I need help on which equip to upgrade.. I'm almost level 53 and need advice on what to farm next Spoiler: Here are my equips
I’d start working on quest specialist if you haven’t already and get the level 53(?) liu bei dagger. Save mesos and get the 64 dagger eventually, then bomb to 120!
For the longest time I've wanted to do a challenge where I restrict my account in a major way compared to the basic ironman mode. As a result, I've created my account: WorldTourGuy. This account only plays in areas that are considered "World Tour" in the Quests section. This includes CBD, Thailand, Lushan, Shanghai, and Mushroom Shrine. In my experience of playing Maplestory, I've barely explored these regions. I have experience in CBD and Mushroom Shrine doing bosses or quests, but not a full experience from scratch on a brand new account. I think this is going to be a fun experience for me. I've decided to make a Bandit since I don't have much experience playing them. In addition, they seem like the most fun based off of the research I did preparing myself for an account like this. I have no actual goals on this account besides having fun and experiencing something new with this game. There's a lot of content to explore, and even some big end game content if I somehow manage to get myself there.
Another progress update: Lvling on my bucc has been very nice and steady, especially now that ellin forest became part of my daily route. But yea, shaolin is still my main working horse in terms of exp progress I still have 95 gelts left to use, this should be enough to get me roughtly 5 more lvls before i run out of juice. I've also finally beated anego, all these lvlings and hp quests got my hp pretty high so its finally a safe fight: In my last post, I mentioned that my new goal would be to solo the boss, but after looking into it, I learnt that soloing it with a bucc is basically impossible with the amount of hp I currently have, and even with 30k hp i would have a hard time getting past Guard A... So in terms of boss goals, I guess the only thing left to try is HT Every person that knows me, knows that I'm an addict to quests, so getting this medal was not a matter of "If", only a matter of "when". And the "when" was barely a week after the update came live LOL On the day of the update, i accepted the medal and saw that i already had 955 quests [goes to show that even without a medal i just do quests for fun hehe] So finishing the medal didn't take too much effort Shichika wasn't the only one i made progress with! After giving my bandit, IronBlade a new look, I got very invested in making progress with him! All my characters are based on anime characters, so it felt weird that ironblade was the only one that wasn't based off someone. after getting rewarded in the christmas event with the azula katana i knew exactly what kind of character i want to make: Spoiler: Okumura rin I've gotten to lvl 63, with something around 80 base int, and 180 mil saved up for bombing bigfoots >: ] can't wait to see my character flying in lvls on the 3rd job
Hey guys, I have joined the challenge Please may i have an inv to the guild? IGN: IronCupid Many thanks
Hey Guys I'm Interested in starting this challenge, just stuck deciding what class i'd like to explore during end game mainly. Considering end game will consist of mainly ToT and mini boss' whats everyones experience been like? I've really wanted to play a BM on this server but considering the amount of washing needed to be able to solo boss' i'm abit thrown off... Mages in my eyes are completely out of the question as it'll be mainly grinding on maps people sell leech on and doesnt seem very Ironman(esk) sort of an easy mode so to speak? From everyones experience what would you say class wise keeps the game interesting late game? Thanks in advance!
The endgame can consist of bossing (not just mini-bosses), or grinding, or questing, or collecting cards, or farming equips and scrolls; depending on what you enjoy! Of course you are a bit limited in terms of which content and bosses you can do, for example Scarlion, Targa and Wulin Yaoseng are unavailable to most Ironmen because of the damage you need to deal in the allotted time-frame. Similarly Neo Tokyo and CWKPQ is off-limits not only because you need to kill Castellan Toad (which requires a lot of HP), but also because of the party-requirements. Having said that, Zakum, Krexel, Bigfoot, and many other bosses, are all available to Ironmen. Personally I mostly kill bosses, primarily due to time constraints, and because it yields NX which I need to scroll my equips. After having played many classes as Ironman, I think the most important thing is that you enjoy the core gameplay of your class, and feel a sense of connection to your character. I tried Bowmaster, then Night Lord, and did not particularly like that they weren't good at soloing Zakum (due to summons), or mobbing. Ultimately I made a Paladin which ticks all boxes for me, I can kill the summons at bosses, control hordes of mobs with stuns and freeze, and am moderately good at killing bosses as well with Blast. With Bowmaster and Night Lord I did not find the HP to be the main issue; you can easily reach 5-7k with minimal washing (just add a bit of base int and level with that), and by doing the level 70 HP Quest. With that amount you can kill most bosses and certainly all mobs, especially since you can stay at a safe distance from bosses like Female Boss and Bigfoot.
Decided to make the leep! Joining the bucc train too! it's Tobacco, i currently have you on my BL would you mind adding my bucc to the guild (IGN) Revolut Many thanks
Small bump to note that we have recently added rules regarding how horntail runs will be dealt in Ironman. There has been a significant increase in higher level 4th job classes and we may yet be doing a run in the near future. Thank you to @LichWiz for drafting the rules and leading the discussion for horntail.
Just came back and decided to try this out. Making the one class I've always wanted to play, bowmaster. ign: Cody Would love an invite whenever possible!
Just made my first Ironman today! Decided to go with Corsair Would love an invite if yall aren't full! ign: IronBullet
Another update post The goal to hit lvl 190 using the gelts i saved up was set at around christmas, since then i've been vigilant, and did shaolin every day [i only missed a handful of days in these past few months, i surprised myself with my consistency] And even after getting this far, i had 45 gelts left by the level up! So i will probably lvl up at least 3 more times before ill run dry. While I am pretty interested in hitting lvl 200 on an ironman, grinding from 193 to 200 might be a bit too much for me as i've gotten segnificantly more busy as of late. So Shichika will probably just have to wait for the next gelt event . In terms of gear, i also made a nice upgrade! Making that FS and getting that CS took me waaaaay too many tickets, but the end result was so fucking worth it [tfw your shoes give you more attack than your cape LOL] Now it's time to target my cape for the next upgrade, wish me luck And, man, I can't believe i forgot to post about Ironblade! After my last post, I started playing on him a lot more, and while i was farming for meso, and doing quests, i found myself at lvl 70: The climb from 70 to 120 was rather laid back, at the first 10 lvls i just cleared HHs, and after i washed enough hp to be safe, I went for BF. I had 130 base int [and not a lot of int gear] for that entire period, and i found myself tempted again and again to do MP washes as i lvled. Together with the hp quest and the job advance that gave a lot of hp and mp [without increasing the min mp!], I amased quite a healthy amount of HP I'm still stuck with the 130 base int, but I'll remove it.... eventually......... In the meantime, I train with him on golden monks meso bomb grinding, cause grinding with my current pathetic gear and high base int is a no-go, and I entertain myself with quest specialist as i wait for the daily votes to finally pay for my debt. [And my beginner is in a progress rate of 2 quests per month LOL]
I was just thinking of doing an Ironman, so it's a nice surprise to find out this server actually has a community for it! Going to be giving Spearman a shot I think, an invite would be great if you have room IGN: Dystray
