    Now to get some popcorn and read people complain about everything and anything about the change.

    Edit: 70 makes way more sense though lol

    You can still have a haste/hb mule, this doesn't stop it. I've never heard of a sweeper mule, but I personally don't buy into MuleStory. I'm sure you can still have whatever the hell that is, just train it to 80+
    There are loads of other things to do between 70-80 which on this server takes no time at all. They can just go to another map for 10 levels(?)

    Please make it 70.
    We have Fire/Poison mage + Bishop (in future) want to grind together at Ulu2 or Petris when they meet and make friend at CPQ2
    We have HP wash characters want to get krex ring earlier for extra int
    If you make the restriction at lvl 80 these characters will have trouble.
    And why not 70 but have to be 80?

    As has been said, this is just a temporary measure. We are likely going to be doing another server check in the near future for unrelated reasons, and will be discussing the specifics of this change once more in time for that. :)
    It's worth pointing out that Staff has not made a claim to implement anything based on a majority poll.

    Let me ask you this, do you want the situation to remain as it is currently? or implement any sort of stop gap?

    I've already commented on this before, while yes, there are other issues in the game, RWT being one of em, that doesn't mean you have to drop all your shit and look with a microscope only at RWT.
    The server has a plethora of issues, Hackers being one of em as well, as some players (me included) requested for a measure to be implemented to fight said issue, I want a response.

    You have to face reality, YOU CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE, but you should at least try to please the majority.

    People who try to go into small stuff like "but what if I want to have an hs mule level 79 with 25 HS" well, I'd assume standard leechers would have at least lvl 81 HS mule due to max HS.
    Sure there might be SOME that won't have 80+ hs mules but they most definitely won't be the majority, unless they're straight up ripping off people and lying saying they're selling leech with max hs.
    And HB/haste mule is a luxury, not a requirement to leech/sell leech.

    I'm pretty certain that I also mentioned that having a level restriction WILL affect some people with mules (such as haste / hb), although by adjusting prices of NLC potions the need for HB can be reduced, and if someone wants even AFTER that to have HB, that's on them to pay for leech / self leech their mule higher (whether it'd be to lv 70 or 80).


    It does on the other hand seem reasonable to have the limitation be level 70 (due to krexel, unless krexel preq will be increased to require lvl 80, no one actually needs to do that boss, except perhaps HS mules for it, which again, max hs is minimum lv 81).


    I do want to make it known that SOME classes do grind (although it's not really as effective, but still viable option for players without funding) in ulu2 and higher (fire mages with poison mist specifically).


    And last, for the people who say this won't make a difference since hackers can just level up, the total EXP required for level 1-30 is 366,872, the total EXP needed for 1-70 is 25,122,396.

    If it took a hacker with vac and speed attack hacks 30 minutes to go from 1-30, in a low level area to stay hidden, it would take them MUCH MUCH longer to reach level 70, they most likely won't buy leech, and I'd assume they won't participate in party quests, so even with hacks it will take them quite some time to level up to 70, they will have to actually gear up and play properly (even with hacking blatantly) to reach that level, and then they will get banned within a few hrs.


    It will become instead of 30 mins of hacking for 1-30 in order to disrupt legit players for about 1-2hrs
    into something of the lines of a few hours of hacking (which is more time for them to get spotted and possibly banned if GMs are actually active in game and not only working off reports) to level 70 and get 1-2 hrs of disruption.

    it will become more and more annoying for the hacker, as it's not the same for lv 1-30, they will have to move from place to place to level up.


    And for legitimate players who insist on having mules / need mules in there, they will only have to level it up once and that's it, while the hacker will have to invest hours every time.

    Reason: Although hacking are related to RWT, the vac hack in ulu areas to kill off players is not motivated by RWT

    Have not given much thought but why not make possession of soul lantern a requirement to enter ulu?

    It’s a tradeable item from the prequest and its only purpose once finished with ulu quests is to hand it to others/mules for them to bypass much of the ulu questline. It is not easily acquired for anyone as they must either do the quests for it or receive it from someone else. Additional features can be added similar to that of snowman: player will die or be kicked from the map if they remove the lantern from their inventory. Something like this would make it harder for a hacker to transfer a soul lantern back and forth as they are repeatedly banned.
    The mobs involved in the quest are impossible for a lvl 8 to do it themselves.
    This would allow legit players to bring their lower levels into ulu still while setting an obstacle for hackers to enter.
    I’m sure a similar item could be implemented for leafre as well.

    I know there aren't many leechers w/hb and haste mules. But for us who actually have been leeching for months and years saving a lot of pots/mesos with HB and benefits that it offers having Haste (personally, as a 10 months Petri leecher) such as a perfect rotation before spawn and awesome looting from pets (with Kenta's Advice quest), u telling me know that I need to leech those mules until 80 as easy as that?

    Having lvl restriction is a pretty good idea and I propose to lower upto 50+.
    It isn't that easy to reach 50 without PQ-ing and we include grinders 70+ to enjoy their spots, also it will be just 9 more levels for leechers with HB/haste mules which makes more sense than just a restriction in base of mobs

    We will look into reducing the recently implemented restriction to 70+, but any lower will probably defeat the purpose.

    If they are easily tradeable, a hacker can also easily give that larntern to his low lvl hacked character, that's not a big obstacle.
    A hacker can literally use a normal account, get a large amount of larnterns, and every time he wants to enter ulu city, he will drop one in a secret spot, teleport there with the hacker account, get the item, and go kill people at ulu... even a lvl 30 entry limit will take more time to bybass than this suggestion lol

    If the hacker is willing to constantly repeat the quest for mr. anchors to summon and kill latanica in addition to creating a lvl 8 character, then other measures can be taken (e.g. rewarding the lantern one time per character from turning in the quest).

    Do you think it would be that easy to get them?
    If there is a change implemented for the lantern to be given only once per character, then there would be even fewer readily available for hackers to get their hands on.

    From my observation, this change was only implemented in light of recent attacks from only a few hackers with a personal vendetta towards the staff. It is affecting a lot more legitimate players when the target is only a few disrupting individuals.

    Repeating the quest to kill the boss is very easy, takes like 10 mins at worst. And for a 4th job chara, the boss itself is a cakewalk.
    And you can't limit the gaining of this item for 1 per chara, cause if you'd say, accidentally drop it (due to not knowing about this entry rule, or the importance of this item for krex), you won't be able to get a new one, and completely lock yourself out of ulu. So allowing to do a repeat quest to regain the item would be needed, and by that point, there's no limit to how many you can make. And if it would be only 1 per chara, won't that lock out mules as well? Mules would need to get that item from another chara, but then that chara won't be able to enter ulu, so even here this idea breaks down.

    I think the level gate is a fair solution, lvl 80 was just too high.

    But accidentally dropping the item can be said about any quest item.

    I was suggesting for the soul lantern to be similar to the silver deputy star.
    - Received only once per character despite the quest being repeatable
    - Tradeable

    If players need extra lanterns for their mules, then they would also need to buy it or complete the quest on another character that doesn't necessarily need the lantern at the same time as their mule.

    Why not level 50 (the level to gachapon and buy ap resets)? I don't think many hackers would sacrifice their vote abuse mules in order to purposely kill players. I think a level 50 limit along side with an more active in game staff roster, this can benefit both sides without compromising as much. If hackers really wanted to do it, they would regardless of whatever level due to their malicious intent.

    Considering what I've seen regarding the number of staff available, it's more leaning towards having a higher level restriction so that staff would be required less often.

    Wasn't there a whole discussion about staff burnout?

    For a legit player, leveling your mule to lvl 70 ONCE shouldn't cause that much grief, especially if you're a leecher, investing 200m~ for the luxury you wanted (HB mule, as haste mule isn't really needed with trio pet /w speed scrolls) shouldn't be THAT much of an annoyance.

    To reiterate my point of haste mules being pointless, I've been leeching petri for almost 2 months, I got 3 pets, and 137 speed without buffs, with 1 card pick up I get 140% speed which is enough to hit all the ropes with ease.


    The experience needed to level up jumps quite extremely from 50-70, so the difference from 1-30 -> 1-50 isn't as good as 1-70 (I've written in a previous comment the exp needed for 1-30 and 1-70).

    My suggestion is to keep it at 70 for now, until there's a better solution (autoban).

    The bot used by hackers has controlled lvling speed because they do not wish to get spotted by GMs when they lvl too fast. Hackers aim to mimic the lvling speed of normal characters in order to blend in. Adding a lvl 80 (hopefully changed to 70) entry limit is actually an effective way to slow down the hackers, by a significant margin too.

    A few of my guild members actually quit the game because they were harassed by the same hacker who came back nearly a dozen times within the same hour. They'd appreciate any form of obstacles to slow down the hacker's return.

    Personally, yes. As I imagine all the card farmers have tons of that lantern thingy. If you limit them for 1 per character, then they will flood the market with them while trying to make profit.
    Although I admit I am surprised to only see 1. I sold about 20 of them so I figured the market was a bit more active.

    Propose an alternative: Can we have an item to purchase in cash shop that can only be purchased by lvl 50+ (similar to gach and aprs), it is non-tradeable, but lasts for like a week or 2weeks. This way the hackers would need to spend the nx and raise the characters to lvl50 in order to get into these areas. This is so anyone who has mules can still bring them in, just need to be lvl50+. Frankly I do not mind leeching HB mules to lvl50, but lvl 80 would not be worth it (as a i might as well made an actual dk). The only issue would be the cost of NX, if it is more than 1 day of voting then it would further deter hackers from quickly making new accounts and vote again (at least in theory I dont know if hackers can easily obtain double nx on a single account). It may also let users way the costs of purchasing 2 aprs vs. the convenience of bringing HB/Haste mule. Quick math in my head says it may be worth the savings if the item duration is longer (depending on the individuals pots and how many they use with and without HB for example).
