General Patch #81.1 Issues Megathread

So... The Nautilus Navigation room protal is broken, and you can literally get softlocked here if you don't have a i return scroll or telerock if you arrive to it through the fast travel portal

EDIT: lol, the bug only happens if you arrive through the fast travel portal first

 

After installing my windows defender said I had a ransomware on my PC (Backdoor:Win32/Zegost!ml, to be exact). I deleted the game and took action against the virus.
I installed again and it happend again.

I used the Mirror 3 download link.

EDIT: I use win 10

and also, img 3 seemed to work .

but why did my pc said that it detected a ransomware when i tried to run the game at the first time? happend to my brother as well, he has also win 10

 

The map: Sleepy Dungeon V seems to be inaccessible.. unable to do the 3rd job advancement for bowman.
The second i enter the map, it disconnects. No matter what channel

 

I'm surprised microsoft shows willingness to help prevent a false positive virus detection for a tiny private server

 

Just did GPQ and don't know if it is a issue or not, but the mobs that usually appeared (one left side, other right side) when failing a combination on the offers room stage inside the GPQ (fountain of the wiseman map) were not appearing anymore

Either way they were just annoying, so don't miss them either lol

 

OS is win10 home, as stated in the first line of the reply, buuuuut i am not sure if i can replicate it, i only used the combo o n c e in the (2nd) zakum run and dc'd. Didn't run again after.

 

What I did was to try multiple times and once a while, one of them would let me do the char selection after the channel selection worked.

 

1. Is it reproducible? If so, please explain how you trigger the issue whenever I alt+tab or change my pots/ adjust hp for pet the client freezes and my screen blinks like crazy. Gotta restart the laptop
2. Are you running WZ or IMG files? And have you tried the other? have tried both, same result
3. What operating system are you running? (including version, e.g. Windows 11 or macOS Catalina) win10 Edit: I changed to lower resolution and it seems to work fine now

   It is the same issue FlashFist is referring to:
   When playing the game in fullscreen mode, I use alt + enter to go into windowed mode. Occasionally (and as far as I know so far it's completely random) my game window will freeze but remain active (I am still able to interact with UI elements when hovering my cursor over the now-frozen window, even if it doesn't appeal visibly on said window).
   
   The window also locks 'priority', meaning that if I click a window behind it (e.g. my browser) the Mapleroyals window will remain in front of it. The only way to close the game at this point is via Task Manager. Just tried again: after having the freeze occur I can still close the window by pressing the X/Close Window button.
   
   Pressing alt + enter again after the freeze has occurred does have the game respond by giving the same screen blinking Flashfist mentions. Pressing alt + enter again undoes this effect but the window remains frozen.

   Windows 10

EDIT: I think I've found a way to reproduce the freeze.

- I boot up the game
- The game starts in windowed mode
- Before interacting with the log-in screen at all, I use alt + enter to put the game in fullscreen mode
- I log-in, select a channel and character like usual.
- Once I appear in the game world, as soon or as late as I use alt + enter to change into windowed mode, the freeze occurs

I've been able to reproduce the freeze 5 times in a row now using this method.

If I leave the game in its original on-boot-up windowed mode until after I've logged in and selected my character, the freeze seems to never occur no matter how often I use alt + enter.

EDIT 2: Even so little as just wiggling the cursor around a bunch on the log-in screen before pressing alt + enter seems to prevent the freeze from happening.

Seemingly the freeze only occurs if the very first thing you do after booting up the game is press alt + enter to go into fullscreen mode.

Consider re-downloading the client. They updated the original Patch 81.1 download to implement the clock UI fix. Fully up-to-date clients have "MapleRoyals Sep 16 2022" as the window's title.

Hi, Marksman here. It feels like the skill Blind isn't working properly. It applies the debuff to the mobs visually, but it doesn't feel like I'm getting hit less. I don't have pre-patch evidence to confirm (or post-patch), but would love if any of the other three MMs could give their input.
